First day to Switzerland—— 20hrs of travel (phew) then welcomed to Hotel Eremitage to meet up with my Mistletoe colleagues.
Many of you know that my husband Michael joined Pohala a few years back. His background in leading his organization has been a real boon to the running of Pohala both from administrative direction and his everlasting positive acumen. He soon learned more of the ‘why’ for Anthroposophic Medicine.
Lukas Clinic Hospital in Arlesheim —— what a promising entrance of the staff of Mercury for healing and Archangel Michael overseeing the personal development that can happen through illness. We walked the halls and the feeling was warm and inviting. Calm without poor odors. Something different can be revealed when we remember the core of healing added to our modern medicine advancements. I saw the zodiacal chart representing the 12 Nursing Gestures of Anthroposophic Nursing.
This week, we explore the inspiring Hawaiian word Mana‘oio, which means faith, trust, and belief. 🌺 It embodies the essence of inner conviction and the deep-seated confidence that guides us through life’s uncertainties.
Mana‘oio is the belief in something greater than oneself—a faith that sustains us, whether it’s faith in the universe, in others, or in our own journey. It is the trust that everything happens for a reason and that, even in challenging times, there is a purpose and a path forward.
In Hawaiian culture, Mana‘oio is not just about religious faith but also about the trust and confidence we place in each other and in the world around us. It reflects a worldview that is deeply interconnected, where belief and trust are fundamental to living a life of harmony and balance.
Mana‘oio is a guiding force in the healing process, reminding us to have faith in our bodies’ ability to heal, in the treatments we receive, and in the journey we are on. It encourages us to trust the process, even when the path is unclear, and to believe in the possibility of a positive outcome. In times of doubt, Mana‘oio provides the strength to keep going, knowing that healing is possible.
At Pohala Clinic, we honor the spirit of Mana‘oio by providing compassionate care that nurtures your faith in your own healing journey. Our integrative approach is designed to support your well-being on every level—mind, body, and spirit. 🌿✨
Embrace the power of Mana‘oio today, and let it guide you through life’s challenges with confidence and trust. Visit us at Pohala Clinic to discover how we can support your path to health and wellness.
May this word inspire you to cultivate faith and trust in your journey. Share this post to encourage others to embrace the spirit of Mana‘oio!

This week, we embrace the empowering Hawaiian word Ho‘omau, which means to persevere, to continue, or to endure. 🌱 This word embodies the spirit of resilience, determination, and unwavering commitment, especially in the face of challenges.
Ho‘omau is more than just a call to keep going; it is a reminder of the strength within us all to push forward, to persist, and to never give up. It is about maintaining focus on your goals, staying true to your values, and continuing on your path despite obstacles.
In Hawaiian culture, Ho‘omau is deeply rooted in the belief of enduring through trials with grace and patience. It speaks to the idea of continual growth and perseverance, whether in personal endeavors, relationships, or community efforts. The concept of Ho‘omau is a reflection of the resilience of the Hawaiian people and their ability to thrive in the face of adversity.

This week, Pohala celebrates the beautiful Hawaiian word ānuenue which means rainbow. In Hawaiian culture, ānuenue is deeply symbolic of transformation, hope, and connection. 🌈🌊🌦️
More than describing the natural phenomena that follows a rain shower, the word has several meanings. It reminds us of the beauty that arises after a storm, a symbol of healing, and the bridging of the earth and the heavens.
According to Hawaiian mythology, the rainbow serves as a gateway for the gods, bridging the gap between physical and spiritual worlds. Ānuenue is also interpreted as a symbol of good fortune and divine protection. They are frequently seen as signs of positive change or as messages from their ancestors.
Ānuenue symbolizes the healing that comes after adversity and challenges, much like how it emerges after a rain. It is a reminder that there is always light and hope even after the darkest storms. The vivid hues of the ānuenue is a constant reminder of the world’s diverse beauty and the value of living in the present with optimism and hope.

At Pohala Clinic, we are committed to fostering healing and wellness in every aspect of your life. Just like the ānuenue, we believe in guiding you through life’s storms and helping you find your way to brighter days. 🌱✨
Let us support you on your healing journey—visit us today to learn more about our integrative care services! https://www.pohalaclinic.com
May this word inspire you to find your own rainbow in the midst of life’s challenges. Share this post to spread the light and beauty of ānuenue with others!
🌈🌺💟💮We had a moving experience this week with James Knight, Therapeutic Eurhythmist..... well literally a physically and psychically moving experience.
He spoke about how as humans we move from disease to health by overcoming separation. Separation too, can be observed on all levels of one being, body, soul, and spirit.
The way we move represents our inner reality of thinking and being and we can learn to move and think differently to reveal more of our whole and healed selves. Finding the place in the middle (heart centered) moving from inward aloneness to outward all is oneness we meet community and togetherness. We move along one way or another at any given time as unique individuals in our cosmic world.
With movement of the spoken word we can heal in ways that may get stuck physically or mentally. 🌟✨⭐️
First time presenting Anthroposophic Medicine with a translator to Japanese students in Japan tonight. Healing can reach far and distant lands. I have been working 4 years with Michiko at Michae’l Institute for Waldorf Teachers here in Portland.
She has taught me a lot too, especially Biography Therapy so I’m very happy to give back. I love being a part of inspiring other cultures to learn healing extends beyond our regular way of thinking.
Wrapping up a great week in Nashville. Able to see beloved colleagues, network, learn a ton and enjoy Music City. Bright spot for me was being amongst other NP owners who are thriving and uniting to disrupt a broken system with NP led businesses and care. Pleased to represent Nurse Practitioners of Oregon.

Hawaiian Word of the Week: Mauka 🗺️
“Mauka is a Hawaiian word that means “toward the mountains” or “inland”. It is often used as a directional term, similar to “north”, “south”, “east”, or “west”. For example, “Turn mauka and go up the hill until you see the red house on the right.” 🌴🌊

It is Pohala’s 17 year Anniversary! It has been a wonderful journey over the years having the privilege to bring healing and the Aloha spirit to our community. “By definition of the Hawaiian Spirit Law, “Aloha Spirit'' is the coordination of mind and heart within each person.” At Pohala we have chosen to embrace this sentiment and encourage mutual regard for each other. We hope to bring light and warmth into this world through compassionate care. With our mission we have been able to grow and now have 11 providers and 11 team members serving the Pohala community. It has been a gift witnessing the impact Pohala has had on so many lives. We want to thank each and everyone of you who has supported Pohala throughout the years, you’ve helped make this journey worthwhile. We look forward to serving you! 🌺🩺
