The OCA & Waypoint Present: The Kids We Lose Documentary & Panel Join us for a free documentary screening and panel discussion about the effects of restraints and seclusion on children in schools.
Kids arenโt attention-seeking, manipulative, coercive, or unmotivated. They donโt need more time-outs, detentions, suspensions, expulsions, paddling, restraints, seclusions, or police referrals.
Those interventions just push them out and away.
They do need adults who know how to collaborate with them on solving the problems that are causing their concerning behaviors.
Registering for the 2024 Children's Mental Health Advocacy Conference is very mindful, very demure ๐

We have never received funding from any entities training caregivers to restrain children. We believe that, despite self-serving statements to the contrary, such entities (and those they fund) do not align with best practice or the best interests of children.
We are passionate about ensuring that kids with concerning behaviors receive compassion and effective help.
