REPOST:
BREAKING: NNEDV rejects the Supreme Court’s decision, which will allow communities to arrest and fine homeless people (including homeless domestic violence survivors) for sleeping outside.

Housing is extremely limited for survivors, often forcing them to make impossible and unfair decisions between sleeping outside or suffering continued violence. Arresting and fining them for sleeping outside is cruel, plain and simple.

Read our full statement at NNEDV.org or at the link 🔗 in our bio.

[Description: Against a blue-toned image of the U.S. Supreme Court, white text reads: “The Supreme Court’s City of Grants Pass v. Johnson ruling will further trap people who are homeless, including survivors of gender-based violence, in cycles of poverty and housing insecurity. Handcuffs and fines will not protect survivors and their families from violence, trauma or their perpetrators.” NNEDV logo in upper right.]

We deserve to live in a world that is safe from violence, especially intimate partner violence. The SCOTUS ruled 8-1 today against overturning a law that has prevented anyone who has a domestic violence protection order against them from purchasing fi****ms. This law has been in place for THIRTY YEARS and yet now, in 2024, it was called into question. We are obviously thrilled that this law did not get overturned, but also acknowledge that celebrating a political figure essentially ruling that Murder Is Bad feels like less than the bare minimum. We will continue to fight for a world free from anyone who would seek to prioritize weapons over our lives. End gun violence! End r*pe culture!

06/21/2024

We are seeking a FLOW (forms, logistics, operations, workflow) Specialist to join our team and our fight to to end domestic and s*xual violence!
The important bits:
Full time (36-40 hrs/week); full medical, dental, vision, and alternative health insurance; unionized; 4+ weeks of PTO; 10 floating holidays; base wage: $26.50/hr; COVID conscious workplace.

Call to Safety is seeking to increase our internal support team with a FLOW Specialist. This role is responsible for government grant management, database management and maintenance, and project management for the leadership team. The ideal candidate has strengths taking on mostly self-directed projects, strong time management skills, and the ability to pivot tasks quickly when needed. In addition, this candidate should be excited about learning and creating excel budgets, database reports, and internal tracking systems as needed. We are looking for someone who is interested and willing to grow, more than someone who has extensive experience. We are equally interested in how both personal and work experiences have helped you develop skills supportive to this role. For example:
- Time management skills such as: managing children(s) calendars; back of house restaurant work, scheduling and keeping appointments/dates/private dances concise to the scope of work, etc.
- Excitement in tracking complex budgets such as: working in cash-based jobs/trades, household budgeting, previous bookkeeping experience, etc.
- Self- directed project management and deliverables such as: building stage sets off rough sketches, creating templates to track mileage reimbursement, keeping a pantry stocked with food for multiple meal options easily available, etc.
- Comfort with a wide variety of technology such as running a community organizing Signal thread, maintaining an Only Fans (or other) page, navigating online social services platforms.

We believe deeply that if you are excited about this role you should apply! For the full job description and details on how to apply, please see our website (linked in comments). We will begin reviewing applications on June 24th and this position will remain open until filled.
