Amazon has donated $200,000 to defeating Measure 118 and is one of the best actors in tax avoidance. Vote Yes on Measure 118 and together we can make them pay are fair share here in Oregon, and put $1,600 back to the hands of every Oregonian.

Right 2 Dream Too is 13 years old today! Founded on World Homeless action day in 2011, after months of planning. Though the city was distracted by the Occupy encampment, it was only a matter of hours before the Bureau of Development Services responded to complaints from a developer. R2DToo was fined by the city every month, racking up $30,000 before our pro bono lawyer helped us sue the city. This lawsuit led to a settlement which resulted in cancelation of the fines and eventual City sanction to operate our non-profit, democratic, low barrier shelter. So much more has transpired over these 13 years. We only exist today because of the support of all the Dreamers (members of R2DToo), and community support! This year we faced the possibility of shutting down due to lack of funds. Thankfully, dedicated community members came through with large and small donations. Thank you to everyone who has played a part in this vital community organization! You are too many to name. ❤️

Grants Pass v. Johnson is a case about the criminalization of poverty. The Supreme Court is considering whether city ordinances that punish the status of being homeless impose “cruel and unusual punishment” in violation of the Eighth Amendment.

Sisters of the Road, along with Oregon Food Bank, Cascade AIDS Project, Hygiene4All, Community Alliance of Tenants : Alianza Comunitaria de Inquilinxs, Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, Habitat for Humanity Portland Region, Portland May Day Coalition, Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency, Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon, PDX Saints Love, Rogue Retreat, ROSE Community Development, Springfield Eugene Tenant Association, SquareOne Villages, Street Books, and Welcome Home Coalition, filed a brief of amici curiae (friends of the court). We want to emphasize to the Court that homelessness is an involuntary condition, criminalization of homelessness is an excessive punishment, not a solution, and local governments have tools at their disposal other than criminalization.

WE DID IT!!!! Thanks to all of your support, we did it!!! Everyone at R2DToo is so grateful for your support. We know that money is tight for so many folks right now, so when you choose to share what you've got with us, it means the world to us.

No matter the size of your donation, we truly appreciate you. You made a difference for a lot of people.

In addition to our GoFundMe campaign, we just received an additional pledge by another anonymous donor for $7,500. So, as of the time of this update, with the original $10,000 matching pledge, we have raised a total of $32,563! That's enough to keep R2DToo going for another six months. I am confident that by then we will have successfully received some grants and will have a more sustainable financial plan.

If you would like to receive occasional updates from Right 2 Dream Too as we move forward, or if you want to continue to help us raise money, please drop me a message with your email, and we'll keep you in the loop!

And again, THANK YOU, from the bottom of our hearts. Because of you, some 70 people will sleep safely tonight.

-Update from our angel 😇 R2DToo supporter extraordinaire, Danielle Klock

SLEEPING BAG DRIVE FOR R2DTOO:
There are some excellent deals right now on high-quality sleeping bags that will keep our guests warm in this frigid night air. The Coleman site is having a 40 percent off sale. This is one of the tried-and-true bags that is roomy and warm. We'll post a link to another equally great bag in the comments, and to the most economical but good bag. It's important to note that very few folks like the mummy bags - too constricting and no room to tuck in personal items for safeguarding.

It's our anniversary!!! 12 years ago today a rag tag group of activists called Right 2 Survive set up a "rest area" on 4th and W Burnside.

Our bags get a lot of use and frequent washes. We put out the call for help mending them and our community answered. These sweet patches are another way that our community feels your love ❤️
We'll be reaching out to some more mending volunteers now that the weather is turning chilly and rainy.
We are also looking for volunteers in many other capacities - laundry support (folding) and fundraising are two areas we could use some help! Send us a message if you have the time and inclination to support R2DTOO
