Watch: Rachel Maddow lays out why you should care about JD Vance's real agenda 10/01/2024

Who else saw Rachel last night? Watch and share. JD Vance is more dangerous than Trump. The Cheeto Napoleion is just a demagogue and a malignant narcissist. But Vance IS BOTH a demagogue and a dictator loving idealogue. As my friend says, "This is not hyperbole, this is not allegory, this is literally the definition of fascism. I’ve never heard anything as dangerous as this in American political discourse."

Watch: Rachel Maddow lays out why you should care about JD Vance's real agenda Rachel Maddow shows JD Vance explaining his lack of faith that democracy can deliver on his conservative ideals, and shows the influences behind Vance's pref...

How did our society get this rich? "Cheap" energy. How did we get into this global climate mess? Burning that "cheap" energy up. We let the petrostates and energy oligarchs privatise their profits while socializing the costs of pollution and global warming. I made these altar hearts out of bituminous coal from Tennessee. They are good for climate change related grief relief.

In a flooding world on fire, we need to learn to stop burning things. We must swich from fossil fuels to fresh fuels. Coal, oil, and natural gas are the bones, blood, and farts of our ancestors. We need to take fossil fuels out of the power station boilers and put them up on our power station altars. Let us thank fossil fuels for all the prosperity that they have brought us and let us stop burning them ASAP.

If you want a better world than tell a better story....
“We’re a storytelling and consuming people, and we remember better and we’re moved more by narrative than we are by information or argument.

“The shorter journalism gets, the more it relies on argument to get any kind of heat. And I just don’t think that’s how you change minds. I think changing minds has to work at all levels: It has to work at the intellectual level, it has to work at the emotional level, and at even probably subliminal levels, and story does that.

“When you look at great pieces of narrative journalism, people don’t even realize their minds have been changed by the time they get to the end of it.” --Michael Pollan

The voyage of the Altar Stone: A Stonehenge mystery solved (maybe) 08/14/2024

Stone Henge continues to impress!
"The Altar Stone was dragged 500 miles or more overland by our neolithic forebears, before the invention of the wheel, across the high hills and through the dense forests of prehistoric Britain, or, as these scientists speculate, the stone was ferried via sea by Stone Age mariners, a routing that “demonstrates a high level of societal organization with intra-Britain transport during the Neolithic period.”

The voyage of the Altar Stone: A Stonehenge mystery solved (maybe) Researchers revealed that the long-mysterious Altar Stone at the heart of the world’s most famous prehistoric monument came from faraway Scotland.

Crystal c**k rocks are back in stock. What ya think?

I got some carved clear quartz ph**li from Brazil recently. I drilled them at the base and attached a sterling silver bail so that they can be worn as pendants, charms, and to harness their healing powers. Bail has 5mm ID hole that will accomodate most chains. CHAIN NOT INCLUDED.

The pendant comes in a gift box with a certificate with information on the history of the fascinus form. This pendant is not only a symbol of fertility and virility but also carries the amplifying properties of clear quartz. It enhances clarity of thought, amplifies intentions, and promotes spiritual growth. In ancient Rome, the fascinus, or divine phallus, was revered as a protective amulet against envy and the evil eye. Associated with virility and regenerative powers, it was often depicted as a charm or worn as jewelry to ward off negativity and bring good fortune. As a pendant, the clear quartz phallus embodies these protective energies while also facilitating spiritual awakening and manifestation. It is also good for reclaiming male power from the patriarchy and in diminishing toxic masculinity in an environment. I know some people who have used such charms to help themselves heal from sexual abuse and to help dissipate shame around their sexuality.

I love this labradorite pendant! One side is carved with a yoni while the other side shows the piece carved in the shape of a heart and there is also a labradorite flash that is also in the shape of heart! When I wear this it's like having a double heart on! :)

From Andrea Gibson post today.

06/04/2024

In the middle ages theologians argued about how many angels could dance on the point of a pin. In the 21st century people argue about the color of quartz. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. Crystal healing IS a FAITH BASED SPIRITUAL PRACTICE. If you have faith in your quartz then its properties may yield the results you're hoping for. If you do not have faith in your quartz then it may not yield the results you're hoping for. Color is subjective and just something humans like to obsess over. We see that manifest in all sorts of ways. Let the citrine vs baked amethyst debates continue forever and ever, AMEN!

New work in bowlerite! This is what the Oracle has to say about it's metaphysical properties...
"A heart-shaped bead crafted from grape-scented purple bowlerite embodies a unique blend of olfactory delight and metaphysical significance. Symbolically, the vibrant purple hue resonates with the prestigious Purple Heart medal awarded to those wounded in military action, but in this case awarded to the civilians wounded in the battles for peace, signifying courage, honor, and sacrifice. Purple, long associated with royalty and spirituality, embodies qualities of love, compassion, and transformation, making it an apt choice for a heart-shaped charm. The artificial grape scent adds an additional layer of sensory experience, evoking memories of sweetness and childhood nostalgia. In the context of recycled bowling balls, the purple heart takes on a new meaning, representing environmental stewardship and sustainability efforts to heal the planet. This bowlerite bead serves as a tangible reminder of resilience, love, and the ongoing commitment to protect and preserve our Earth."

I made this one of a kind focal bead out of genuine Polka Dot Agate from Oregon. It has a satin matte finish, a 2.5mm drill hole, and has a wonderful feel to it. Very unique patterns and colors in this classic American agate! Among the metaphysical properties, it is believed to be a stone that brings joy, optimism, and light-heartedness. This stone is often associated with balance and harmony, both in emotions and the environment. Many people use Polka Dot Agate to help alleviate stress and enhance creativity, making it a popular choice for those seeking emotional and mental well-being. Its distinctive appearance with earth tone dot patterns and fluid veining is also thought to symbolize unity and interconnectedness in life.

What do you see? This looks like an angel to me! Fairy Stones, aka Goddess Stones, are naturally formed concretions with distinct shapes & patterns. This one is from Quebec. Metaphysically they represent the divine feminine, fertility, and a connection to the creative power and nurturing energy of Mother Earth. Useful as sacred objects in rituals and ceremonies. Formed through a natural process involving bacterial residue and organic matter, they are revered for their ancient origins and mystical properties. Fossil traces of plant filaments like horsetail are often present.

I really love this bead pendant! Chinese Writing Rock, also known as "Porphry," is revered for its grounding energy and ability to foster inner strength and stability. The matte finish enhances its connection to the Earth, promoting a sense of rootedness and balance. As a heart-shaped stone, it amplifies its properties of love, compassion, and emotional healing, encouraging one to open the heart chakra and embrace self-love and empathy. This bead serves as a reminder to stay grounded in love and authenticity, even during challenging times, and to express gratitude for the beauty and wisdom found in the journey of life.
