Last week, a resident from our community made a notable appearance on a local news channel. Sahomi T., a master Japanese classical dancer shared her story with KGW News CH 8. The segment highlighted Sahomi's remarkable journey, recounting her time in Japanese internment camps and celebrating her endeavors in promoting Japanese culture through her professional dance career. She has taught dance and performed on Broadway and in Radio City Music Hall. Sahomi also received a distinguished award from the Japanese government and recently celebrated her 100th birthday. We are so proud of Sahomi for sharing her remarkable story with us and KGW News.

Residents and team members took a trip downtown for one of their weekly outings. Powell’s Books in Portland boasts the title of the world’s largest independent bookstore and it’s easy to see why it has become one of the most popular tourist destinations the city has to offer!
Residents had a chance to peruse several floors of books in every genre imaginable. There was so much to see that individuals made arrangements to come back another day to explore and enjoy the unique coffee shop inside the store. Latte art and cinnamon rolls were just the cherry on top of an already wonderful excursion.

Last week, we celebrated the coming of spring and Easter with a visit from over a dozen sweet bunnies. Residents dressed up for the occasion and were overjoyed at the chance to hold and cuddle these furry friends. Family members and grandchildren also visited our community and joined in the fun. 🐰 🐣 🐥
