When it comes to developing good character, Primrose students have 12 special helpers. Through songs, stories, activities and more, teachers use the Primrose Friends to help children learn about positive character traits like generosity ❤️, courage 🦁 and cooperation 🤝.

The start of a new school year is always exciting, but little ones sometimes feel nervous about making the transition whether that be the prospect of a new classroom, new teachers or new friends. Try these tips to help build your child's confidence for the first day of school and beyond:​

👋 Wave Goodbye to Summer: Enjoy an end-of-summer picnic and a first day back at school breakfast with your family.​

🙂 Keep it Positive: Your attitude makes a huge difference when it comes to building excitement about the school year. Talk to your child about all the fun they'll have and how they'll get to see their school friends soon. ​
​
🍎 Practice Healthy Habits: Schedules tend to get off track in the summer, so it's important to reestablish your child's normal sleeping and eating schedules. The transition will be easier for both of you when your little one is well-rested and feeling good. ​
​
🗓️ Make a Paper Chain: Starting in the final days of summer, create a paper chain with every "link" representing one day. Have your child draw what happened that day on each link. When the first month of school is over, you'll have a fun memory craft to decorate with. ​
​
📚 Read Together: Reading books about heading back to school is a fun way to get your child excited while helping strengthen their early literacy skills. ​

In June, Primrose schools in Middle Tennessee hosted over 340 teachers for Professional Development Day! This event was full of learning, collaboration, team-building exercises and networking. ​

We're happy to support by providing them continuous opportunities to learn and grow. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this Professional Development Day to life, from schools and Franchise Owners to our guest speaker and the amazing teachers who help build a brighter future for every student.

Spring Fling has come to an end, and this year the Primrose community has raised more than $510,000 as children learned about the joy of giving without expectation. 🌸🎉​

Half of the funds raised will support local charities in Primrose school communities, and the other half support the Primrose Schools Children Foundation's mission to empower people, care for the planet and give back to communities through contributions to West Lakes Early Learning Center, No Kid Hungry®, Save the Children® and more.

Today is Juneteenth, a holiday that commemorates Black history, equality and freedom in the United States. It's a day of remembrance, but also a day of joy and celebration for Black Americans. We honor and encourage families to join us in recognition of this important occasion!

Our Toddlers discussed healthy foods and then used play food and paint to make prints on paper.

The future is looking bright! 🌟 Primrose graduates have had an amazing journey that has prepared them so well for their next big adventure - kindergarten! Infants worked on their gross motor skills while playing with the scarves! The teachers showed them how to move scarves in a circular motion. They practiced moving the scarves in a circular motion while the teachers said, "You are moving the scarf around and around like a round circle!”

At Primrose, giving back is at the heart of what we do. This dedication was recently recognized with two 2024 Gold Stevie American Business Awards. Our Primrose Promise program, which features events like the Caring and Giving food drive, comes to life with help from students and families nationwide. Our Early Preschoolers talked about colors and explored mixing colors to make pink and purple!

Some animal friends from the Ernie Miller Nature Center came out to say hi to our Preschool and PreK classes this morning! We had fun learning about all of the animals and even got to pet one of them! 🐢🐦‍⬛🐇

We're so proud of the creative bulletin boards our students and teachers created for June! We're going to kick off our summer with a little friendly competition to see which class's bulletin board gets the most likes. "Like" the photo of your favorite board to cast your vote. The competition runs from now until Friday the 14th. The winning class will get a special treat!

Our little friends really enjoyed observing their caterpillars grow and change into Painted Lady butterflies! We released them so they could continue their life cycle!

To celebrate the start of summer we had a Hawaiian Luau Day! We had fruit kabobs for snack and wore our favorite Hawaiian gear! 🌺☀️🌊

We're so excited for summer! We're kicking off the season with a fun giveaway. We have 2 summer fun activity bags to give away as well as several sets of Kansas City Zoo passes! Primrose Schools is sponsoring the tram at the Zoo! We will draw names today and notify the winners via Procare.

While tantrums are a normal part of growing up, there are ways you can help your toddler keep their calm when their emotions are running high. Early Preschool stretched, pulled, and squished play dough this morning. Their teachers encouraged them to try and make a flower.

Our Pre-K class used their thermometer to measure the temperature of their classroom and then compared and contrasted that to the temperature outside on our playground.

Our Toddler class drove their toy cars through paint and explored the texture left behind in the tracks.

The sky's the limit for Primrose graduates! We are so proud of our Pre-K Class of 2024, and we made the most of their big day with a joint graduation ceremony with our sister school, Primrose School of Ward Parkway.
