The Second Annual Pet Dental USA SpaceX Egg Launch is finally here! 🚀
Let's find out which team will redeem themselves...
Meet Penelope! 🐐
Penelope belongs to Dr. Mead who rescued her from a poor husbandry situation.
Did you know...
1. **No Upper Front Teeth**: Goats don’t have upper front teeth, known as incisors. Instead, they have a tough dental pad on the top front of their mouths. They use this pad, along with their lower incisors, to grab and tear at vegetation.
2. **Continuous Growth**: A goat's teeth grow continuously throughout its life, especially the molars. This helps them grind down tough plant material. However, their teeth can wear down over time, which can affect their ability to eat properly as they age.
3. **Teeth as Age Indicators**: You can estimate a goat’s age by looking at its teeth. Goats have baby teeth, which they gradually lose and replace with permanent adult teeth. By counting the number of adult teeth, you can get a rough idea of how old the goat is.
As summer comes to a close, Aloha Fridays are officially over at our Gilbert location 🌴

Meet Appa, Our Caucasian Shepherd! 🐾
Appa is our nine-month-old male Caucasian Shepherd, and he's already showing all the traits that make this breed so special. These dogs are known for their incredible size, strength, and protective instincts. Originally bred in the Caucasus Mountains to guard livestock from predators like wolves and bears, Caucasian Shepherds are natural protectors with a strong sense of loyalty.
Today, Appa had his occlusion checked, and as usual, he handled it like a champ! He's still growing into his full size, but he's already showing his calm and courageous personality. We love having this gentle giant in our family and can't wait to see him continue to grow and develop.
If you’ve ever thought about owning a Caucasian Shepherd, just know they are amazing companions but require experienced handling and lots of space. Appa has definitely found his forever home with us! 🐕❤️

The best solution? A full mouth extraction - talk about a dental makeover!
But fear not, because Cookie is now rocking her new smile and living her best life in comfort (and style, of course) 💁🏼♀️
