Outdoor Action is Princeton University's outdoor education and leadership development program.
For over 40 years OA has served Princeton through the annual Frosh Trip outdoor orientation program for incoming freshmen, through the Leader Training program which trains current students to be leaders and role models to incoming students on the Frosh Trip, and alumni through on-campus events and outdoor-based adventure travel trips.
We are excited to introduce this year’s team of Frosh Trip Coordinators! Our FTC team—comprising Oscar Barrios ‘27, Dylan Bissonette ‘26, David Dorini ‘25, and Trace Nuss ‘24—will be working throughout the entire summer on route and menu planning, equipment inventorying and ordering, researching new trip areas and activities, among other general project management activities as we prepare to welcome our Great Class of 2028.
Preparing the equipment for the more than 600 students who participate in the program each year involves a lot of work, and OA needs your help. Throughout this summer, Thursdays will be open for all students to collaborate in organizing the equipment among other tasks as we prepare to welcome our Great Class of 2028. Our ER Thursdays continue a long-standing summer tradition where multiple brave students come together for the good vibes and the free dinner... YES, FREE DINNER! You contribute your effort, and OA covers the meal!
Previous dinners have featured delicious offerings from Tacoria, Mamoun’s Falafel, Thai Village, Nomad’s, and Conte’s Pizza. We’re open to all sorts of suggestions for future meals.
So, if you’re on the 14-meal plan this summer, let OA treat you. This Thursday night we will be having FREE pizza for all!!

Meet your 2022 Frosh Trip Coordinators!

Hi! My name's Eric and I am one of the frosh trip coordinators this year! I was an ORFE major for my undergrad with certificates in statistics and machine learning, applications of computing, and optimization quantitative decision science. In addition to being leader^3, I am also a TST, WFR, and LT. Outside of OA, I was a part of Six14 Dance Company. I love travelling and am a huge foodie. Can't wait to be on more outdoor adventures with y'all!

Hey everyone! I'm Rebecca, one of your FTCs for Frosh Trip 2022. I recently graduated (class of 2022) with a concentration in Politics and a certificate in Journalism. I was an OA leader trainer and involved with Whig-Clio and the US-China Coalition. I love reading, exploring the trails near Princeton, attempting the NYT crosswords until Friday, and making hyper-specific Spotify playlists. Super excited for frosh trip planning and to meet everyone!!

Hello Princeton! My name's David and I'm excited to be working with OA this summer as an FTC for this year's Frosh Trip! As an undergrad (class of 2022) I was a Physics major and pursued the Applications of Computing certificate. In addition to being a leader trainer with OA, I was also a part of Roaring 20 a ca****la and was a Forbes PAA. In my free time, I enjoy playing and listening to music, cooking new dishes, and going on drives to nowhere in particular. I'm thrilled to be able to take part in the planning of OA's first series of overnight trips in 3 years(!), and am looking forward to meeting all the leaders and participants!
Another week, another big task conquered!
Our second ER Thursday was even bigger than the first! Members of the campus community from last week as well as new faces came down to the OA Office to inspect, sort, and organize our sleeping bag inventory this time around, all while creating a local community for the summer on campus. Last week, it was pizza together on OA’s dime!
All are welcome at ER Thursdays! Encourage your friends and roommates to join us again tomorrow, Thursday July 7, for more community, food, and fun! See you there!

It’s messy, but not for long!
Join us at the OA Equipment Room (ER) at 350 Alexander Street TODAY and Thursday evenings this summer for 2 hours of food & community!
ER Thursdays are an opportunity to connect with other OA folks who are in Princeton for the summer while helping OA prepare for Orientation. Under the guidance of OA staff, you’ll work on some laid-back equipment-related projects (sorting, inventorying, repairing), and then we’ll all gather together for dinner on OA’s dime!
All are welcome at ER Thursdays—encourage your friends and roommates to join us too! You do NOT need familiarity with OA equipment in order to be a part of the team! See you there!
