Hi friends!!! I wanted to let you know that excitingly, National History Day will be featured on CBS Sunday Morning tomorrow, June 30. The show airs from 9-10:30am ET. You can also stream Sunday Morning on the CBS app tomorrow starting at 12pm ET. Please share this so more people can learn about how awesome NHD is!!!

RI History Day students had a marvelous time touring the Capitol and meeting with Representatives Amo and Magaziner (pics of that to come)!
Also got to visit Morgan and Charlotte from Toll Gate at the Smithsonian Museum of American History’s Exhibit Showcase as they represented our state. Well done all! Last day of the contest tomorrow😢

The 2024 National History Day Contest starts Sunday June 9th and runs through Thursday June 13th. Wishing our 53 RI History Day National Qualifiers competing this week an amazing time and the best of luck!!! Remember, it’s not just a day, it’s an experience!

We’re getting ready for National History Day! It’s less than a month away. RIHD students make sure to submit your registration by 11:59 pm tonight!!

This month, and every month, Rhode Island History Day honors the accomplishments and stories of Black Rhode Islanders. Check out the stories of Duchess Quamino, Elleanor Eldridge, George Downing, Sissieretta Jones, Mary Howard Jenkins, John Carter Minkins, George Wiley, Jeffrey Osborne, and Viola Davis, just to name a few!

Toll Gate High School.

Whether you are new to History Day or could use a refresher, our virtual workshop on Tuesday November 15th from 4-5:30 pm with Lynne O'Hara (Director of Programs for National History Day) will build your confidence and expertise. We will review and discuss the NHD rubrics, then put them in action by evaluating sample History Day projects. Lynne O'Hara's presentation will make you an expert in offering valuable feedback that your students can use for growth and revision to help them reach the next level.
