Marie-Marthe’s family was among many others in the Derrière-Savanne/Kenscoff region of Haiti living in despair as the ever-present burden of water access kept them trapped in a cycle of poverty. Thanks be to God the table has turned for Marie-Martha last year when her family received a H2ope Ministries reservoir. Because she finally had time to allocate to more prosperous activities, Marie-Marthe was able to secure a place in an open market near her home and is selling basic food products as a retailer. Marie-Marthe has embraced a new journey for her and her whole family that has increased their income by 32%. That is a significant contribution to her family monthly assets. She aims to improve her small business and earn more profit from it in the future. She is so proud for being able to bring her financial contribution and help her family meet their needs.

“Only God knows the importance of the blessing that project brings to our community. Before that I had to take my buckets and walk starting at 4:00am every morning so that I could bring water in time for my children to wash and go to school. I had to go back again in the middle of the day and in the afternoon also to be able collect sufficient water for the other needs. There was no way I could have found time for other things. That was terrible. My husband does not earn enough to meet all our needs and I felt guilty for not being able to contribute. Now that I have started my own small commerce, we have a better income. We are confident that our children will have a better life with the contribution that I now bring! May God bless H2ope Ministries more so that they can bless others in our community!” - Marie-Marthe

Whenever a donor finances the construction of a water cistern for a family, we provide all the necessary proof that construction is completed in less than a month and we continue to provide updates to the donor on any transformation that happens in the life of the recipients thanks to that cistern, even after the completion is made.

We are so grateful to the Hemmert Family for their support! These reservoirs continue to be a beacon of light and hope not only for the recipient families, but for the whole community. Thank you for helping us change lives in Haiti through the gift of clean water.

H2OPE Ministries Haiti is keeping up the good work! Our life-changing journey is not over yet! It will not be over until every single family have access to water at their home! It will not be over until all kids (like those enjoying in the attached pictures), move FROM BUCKETS (fetching water far away from their homes) TO BOOKS (being able to allocate times to their studies, churches and other worthwhile activities)! It will not be over until we definitely change the condition and uproot the cause of cholera in Haiti!
The new surge of cholera in here that already took 155 lives and make more 8000 hospitalizations mean we need to continue to stand until all families in Haiti have acces to proper water and sanitation facilities.

YES! we have started some good work! But we can still help appeal to a broader audience!
Together we can change families and break the cycle of poverty.
