Alonzo Arthur Noon was the Worshipful Master of Story Lodge No 4 in 1882 and 1883. He was also the last surviving Charter Member of Story Lodge.
Noon was born in England in 1837, traveling the world multiple times over while working on a sailing vessel for several years as a small boy. He ended up running away from the ship in Australia, then going to India, South Africa, and Natal where he joined the LDS church and ran a successful sugar operation. Joining the LDS bath led him to leave for New York to travel to Utah, settling in a Provo.
While in Utah, his children write, he was disappointed with what he found here. As a result of what they say were broken promises by church leaders and his aversion to polygamy, his family left the LDS faith and became Methodists.
It is unknown currently when he became Methodist or where/when he was raised a Master Mason.
Alonzo was a signing charter member of Story Lodge No 4 F&AM of Utah in 1872. He went on to serve as Worshipful Master of this Lodge in 1882 and 1883.
In the 1890s he was elected as Justice of the Peace, he was a staunch member of the Republican political party and retained his office even during the Democratic administrations that followed. He also held the office of Judge of the Juvenile Court, County Mining Recorder and business manager of the West Tintic Iron Ore Mining Co.
Worshipful Brother Noon passed away in Provo, Ut in 1911.

On this day in 1872 our little lodge, formerly known as Utah Lodge, was officially chartered under the Grand Lodge of Utah. Grateful for that small group of men who endeavored to charter our little Lodge. Cheers to 150 years and here’s to 150 more.
This is our Lodge’s 150th anniversary. We recently had the privilege of celebrating this anniversary with the Grand Lodge of Utah and the other Lodges formed in 1872 at the Alta Club in Salt Lake City. It was a great meal with god company in a beautiful setting.
Good times at our BBQ last Thursday
