CharityVision
Vision is our mission. We create sustainable solutions through sight and empower others to do so.
We empower highly-trained and highly-motivated local physicians throughout the world, mostly in developing countries. We provide them with whatever it takes to help them help those without sight in their own communities. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax exempt organization recognized by the IRS, and all donations to CharityVision International are tax-deductible in accordance with US tax regulations. CharityVision is a subsidiary of Deseret International Foundation founded in 1987.

As Franklin aged, his vision became both near-sighted and far-sighted. In 1785, tired of using two pairs of glasses, he combined lenses for close-up and distance vision into one frame, inventing bifocals.
Fighting For Afghan Women in Vision
Dr. Shir, our partner in Afghanistan, expressed profound gratitude for your generous support. He said:
>> "Last month, the government reduced the salary of all female state employees by two-thirds. We are grateful to CharityVision for contributing a stipend to our women staff that allows them to provide for their families."
Stories like this remind us not to take our freedoms and rights for granted.
This lady just received an amazing gift - a cataract kit, and she got her sight back! Is there a better way to end the week?

We're teaming up with longtime friends, Clinica OftavisiΓ²n Chihuahua, at their newest clinic. With a population of one million, this city lacks a state-of-the-art facility to aid those with limited resources. We're thrilled to contribute to restoring sight and changing lives in Mexico.

While motorcycles serve our team well during school screenings, our expansion into Bogor demanded a safer, rain-ready solution. Thanks to local generosity, we now navigate Bogor roads in a van, amplifying our SightBuddies program's reach for child eye screenings.

When .75 cents is all you have for a new pair of glasses... What do you do? π€
CharityVision's model encourages doctors and patients to contribute what they can, helping them feel ownership as they receive your gift.
Jovensky, struggling with schoolwork for over a year due to vision problems, couldn't afford an eye screening or glasses. His father slowly saved money with his $180 monthly wage for all expenses. (In Haiti, $50 for glasses is a significant expense!) Fortunately, he heard about a free eye exam at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Within a week, Jovensky received a brand-new pair of glasses in our clinic. With 100 gourdes saved in his pocket (approximately .75 cents USD), Jovensky paid for them himself.
π Grateful and smiling, he said, βI don't need to have books close to my face...
Now, I can catch up on homework!β.
