One of my favorite things about being a hairstylist? Having a lifelong skill that I can take everywhere I go, and use it to gift others 🫶🏼

I remember this event being so emotional 🥹 A room full of selfless women - stylists donating their craft and clients donating their hair. The power of a haircut can be more than making one person feel good about a new look, but it can also be a gift to help donate hair to others in need.

HAIRSTYLISTS: If you don’t already, I highly recommend reaching out to members of your own community, to see where you can help out. How lucky are we, that we have a talent that allows us the opportunity to give back without it costing us a thing?! 🥰

From beauty school, to commission salon, to booth rental x 2, to my Sola suite - we have been on a JOURNEY you guys!

I have had so many clients, but probably not the variety you would expect after 12 years. Simply because my guests have been incredibly loyal over the years and passionately supportive - even when it came to me leaving this career to start another 🫶🏼

How lucky am I?! I can’t say enough what a pleasure it has been, and I want to spend these last couple months sharing some throwbacks as well as some new stuff, to paint the picture of what this career has meant to me.

My biggest piece of advice to the next generation of stylists: Find yourself a mentor. They are PRICELESS.

In the beauty industry, we are not meant to do things alone. We are meant to collaborate, learn from each other, share, and build each other up. There are SO many heads of hair - I promise there are enough for everyone. The stylist next to you is not your competition.

A mentor is someone you can troubleshoot your business with. Someone who is a phone call away, that talks you off the ledge when your client handed you each hair she wanted you to cut (because clearly she knows more than you, the professional). A mentor listens. They cheer you on and promote your business. A mentor can refer clients to you. They are someone who you look up to. You admire their business and the way that they treat their guests. You get to learn techniques from them in a safe environment.

Maybe you do amazing hair, but you will never be the best - not one person was meant to be the best. Stylists are meant to evolve and learn forever.

As all of my clients know, I have been in school pursuing my next career. The future of what that would look like has been unknown for some time, however I’m finally able to share some final news.

In the last couple of weeks, an unexpected opportunity for immediate full time design work has left me to make a difficult decision for my business.

As much as I love my clients, my craft, and the space I have created - it’s time for me to set down the shears and fully retire from Artistry by Nicole.

I have so much to say, but I want to keep this short and sweet for now. The doors will officially be closing the evening of May 26, 2024.

If you know me at all, you know my heart. I love and appreciate every single person who has sat in my chair - the memories are priceless. Serving this community for almost 12 years has been my pleasure ❤️
