Library Giving Day was offically last week, but the Puyallup Library Foundation has had donations coming in every day since. We are so close to our goal to raise funds for the recording studio that we're hoping we have some $10 Tuesday donors out there. There truly are no too small donations, that is the amazing power of community. If we each give a little we can do great things.
The Teen Zone is moving forward, staff are going to look at furniture options next week! The recording studio will be for everyone! Are you a Podcaster or a musician? This will be a great community asset.

School Libraries and the Librarians who care for them have changed the lives of so many with one book.
It's National School Librarian Day!
A big thank you to our school librarians for the amazing job that you do. Especially during these times. We appreciate it!
"Libraries are about freedom. Freedom to read, freedom of ideas, freedom of communication. They are about education, about entertainment, about making safe spaces, and about access to information."
-- Neil Gaiman
There is risk in trying something new and there is risk in staying the same. The Puyallup Library Foundation is proud to have partnered with the Pierce County and Tacoma Library systems for Library Giving Day, but with all new ventures sometimes unexpected things happen.
When we looked at our donations from yesterday, they were down, a lot. We have people who said they donated, but their donations weren't showing up in our Give Lively system. We reached out and discovered some of our donors hit the wrong button and gave to Pierce County Libraries instead of Puyallup. PC has great libraries, but it's disappointing to us.
If you thought you were donating to Puyallup your receipt will have come from Give Lively, if it went to Pierce Co. it will be thanking you for supporting youth in Pierce Co.
If you meant to donate yesterday and haven't had a chance and would like to help us make up the deficit we would so grateful. Please use this direct link to our Give Lively account:

Who thinks Library Giving Day should go all month? We do, so if you missed donating yesterday there is still time and we'd love your support.
Libraries play an essential role in communities. In Puyallup, our library provides not only books (print & digital), but access to computers, programs and for our teens a safe place to gather. Our library is literally in the center of our community and donations raised go towards special projects and wish list items.

Today is the day, Library Giving Day 2024! Please support your 253 Library.
Over 520 Libraries are hoping to raise much needed funds for their wish list items. There is no such thing as a too small of a donation, every donation makes a difference.

Tomorrow over 520 Libraries will be participating in Library Giving Day 2024. We hope you will choose to support your Library.
If this was a Hallmark movie we'd have a few wealthy benefactors swoop in and support all three of our Pierce County Libraries, but we believe in the power of community. There is no such thing as a too small of a donation. There are over 921,000 people living in Pierce Co. so every donation makes a difference.

April 3rd's Library Giving Day is almost here. The Secretary of State's page had this to say about Libraries, "Libraries are all about sharing. Public libraries are based on the idea that one book can be shared with many. This simple notion forms the foundation of a public library’s mission and goals. Modern libraries offer much more than books, but the idea of equal access for all has never changed."
This year Pierce County's three Library systems (Puyallup, Tacoma & Pierce Co.) have joined together for Library Giving Day 2024. Each Library has its own project and programs that these funds will support. Please check out our joint webpage for information and to donate: https://www.librarygiving253.org/
Here is information about the Teen Zone. The Foundation raised awareness and committed funds to this project. We were fortunate to have a board member bring it to the attention of Puyallup Rotary who stepped up with an amazing donation, so soon our teens will have a dedicated space.

Save the date!-April 3, 2024. Once again we will be participating in Libary Giving Day. Since Library Giving Day launched in 2019, over 500 libraries have joined together to raise awareness and funds for libraries.
The Puyallup Library Foundation raises money for items outside the budget. This "wish list" is usually larger items like the Teen Zone, but in the past we've purchased bi-lingual early learning computers and a new children's book collection.
The Teen Zone will be finished soon and our hope is to add a recording studio, which won't just be for teens.
What a great opportunity to support the younger members of our community.

Tomorrow is Libary Giving Day! There are over 500 libraries participating this year. On March 21st the City Council voted to fund the creation of the Teen Zone in conjunction with a $100k donation from the Rotary Club of Puyallup!
The Teen Zone has been the focus of Library Giving Day in the past as we've worked to raise awareness for the need for a dedicated space and fund the teen's wish list. Many teens need a safe place to learn, study, interact with other teens, and to just be a teen and soon they will have it.
Our teens need you and it’s so easy to donate via our donation platform:

We promise that your gift will make a meaningful difference to our teens and future teens.
For a few years we've been raising money and awareness to highlight the need for a place of our teens. Well it finally happened. Thanks to a $100k gift from Puyallup Rotary our city council voted to provide the remaining funding for a Teen Zone at the Library.
Library Giving Day is coming up fast and we'd love to see our community support our soon to be Teen Zone and the youth that will use it by helping make sure it has the items on their wishlist. Rotary and the City are building the space. We need you to help make it a welcoming and engaging place for our teens.

For several years we have participated in Library Giving Day, raising funds for items outside the General budget. Slowly, but surely we've dedicated our LGD funds to supporting the creation of a Teen Zone. This year LGD is on April 4th, but you don't have to wait to support Puyallup's amazing teens and soon to be teens:
