Our amazing activity assistant Darian is super creative when it comes to painting our residents' fingernails. π
The residents give her an idea of what they want and she tries to make their ideas a reality. Our residents loved their nails and even some of our gentlemen have had their nails painted because they didn't want to miss out on the unique painted nail art.
We had the craziest bingo wins last week!
We had 3 ladies all sitting at the same table call bingo at the same time with the bingos being on the same line on each of their boards. What are the odds?
Today, we hope everyone gets the chance to unwind and enjoy all the things they've worked for!
Wednesday was National Bow Tie Day so we celebrated by bedazzling bows! π
Some residents made them for their pets and barrettes they could wear or give away. There was a lot of teamwork while we made our fabulous bows and had fun chatting as we crafted.
We played a silly target game of flinging little rubber chickens at target cups. It was a little harder than it sounds; we had to learn the best way to launch the little chickens. We also got a little out of control, flinging them at each other and getting a few stuck on the ceiling. It was a big hit, and we enjoyed popcorn while we launched chickens all over the place.
Happy National Senior Citizens Day!
Thank you to everyone who donated to our Fill the Canoe Back-to-School Fundraiser.
Red Canoe Credit Union vows to match the 57 pounds of school supplies we collected to support our Puyallup School District. Way to go Team South Hill!
Congrats Stephanie Schultz, Central Supply Director, for being our 2023 Annual WIT Winner! You go, girl!
We decided to be a little wild and get tattoos! Temporary tattoos that is.
We had an afternoon social of drinking root "beer" and applying realistic temporary tattoos. We shared laughs as some resident got creative with their tattoo placements. We even had visiting family members get in on the tattoo action.
We are proud to have received a Five-Star Overall CMS Rating!
This achievement shows our passion for service and our willingness to do whatever it takes to give our patients, residents and their families the care they need with the compassion they deserve.
Every Tuesday we have hot, fresh, and buttery popcorn! πΏ
Yesterday one of our lovely residents, Joyce, was a superstar by helping our activity staff to deliver popcorn to residents and other departments. Joyce spread smiles all around as she made her delivery and many people said it brightened their day to receive the delivery. Thanks, Joyce!
In conjunction with the Red Canoe Credit Union and Communities In Schools of Puyallup, we are a collection site for this year's Fill the Canoe Back-to-School Drive! βοΈπ
We will be collecting donations through August 16th. The Red Canoe Credit Union will match our fundraising efforts, pound for pound! Come on in and support our Fill the Canoe Campaign.
We tie-dyed sneaker keychains by coloring them with Sharpie pens and pouring isopropyl alcohol on the sneakers to make the tie-dye effect. Our residents had lots of fun and are planning to gift them to their grandkids!
We enjoyed some lovely sunshine and friendly competition while axe throwing.
We had lots of residents and families join us outside to try their hand at wielding an axe while we enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Here's to independence!
Let's congratulate Norma on meeting her short-term therapy goals and discharging back home! We are so proud of her.
"I have made great progress with physical and occupational therapy. With all of their wonderful help, I am ready to go home and will be able to take care of myself safely." ββ Norma Young

Happy Birthday to our nation's flag! πΊπΈ
We wouldn't be able to touch so many lives if it weren't for the compassion and commitment of our CNAs!
Thank you, wound care nurses, for being healing heroes to us and our loved ones.
Fellas, remember to eat right, stay active and keep your stress in check!
Our staff and residents had fun trying a fun new game called "Toss like a Boss!"
Thank you to the brave men and women who laid down their lives for our country.
We had a totally rad '80s-themed day for Nursing Home Week!
We played games, the staff had a special coffee truck come by, and we took awkward family photos.
We kept on boogying our way through Nursing Home week as we celebrated 70's Day! βοΈ
We had several disco dancing prize walks for staff and resident through out the day on Wednesday.
We continue our Nursing Home Week celebration with Hippy Dippy 60's Day! βοΈ
We made groovy tie-dye bandanas and enjoyed a trippy hippy coffee bar.
We are celebrating Nursing Home Week by having a decade theme for each day!
Monday was Fabulous 50s Day. Our staff and residents dressed up and enjoyed an ice cream sundae bar with 50s tunes and photo props.
We want to thank our skilled nursing associates for contributing to the cherished memories of our patients, residents and families by providing steadfast support and compassionate care.
