Why Wait a week to give? GIVETHANKSGETTING is TODAY.
Thanksgiving is a time for us to reflect in gratitude for the blessings in our lives as well as gorge ourselves on tasty food! Then comes the shopping and spending of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. Finally, it's Giving Tuesday, a time to give back to worthy causes near and dear to our hearts.
Why is Giving Tuesday AFTER eating and spending? Why does charity get what's left after doorbusters and deals? Shouldn’t the “giving” really get top billing?
Friends, let's be bold and start a new holiday- GIVETHANKSGETTING Tuesday! Let's give charity the top spot the Tuesday before eating the turkey dinner and heading out to shop-til-you-drop.
Join the movement. GIVE then THANKS then GET.

From a wise friend:
Really can’t stress this enough. Taught my 7th grade lessons today and talked about, the often un-talked about, messy feelings over the holidays. It’s OKAY if you look forward to a party at your aunt and uncle’s house for weeks leading up to it, but then feel anxious or overwhelmed during the festivities. It’s POSSIBLE to enjoy traditions while also feeling grief for family members not with you. It’s NORMAL to have a perfectly wonderful holiday or get everything you wished for, but then feel sad or deflated when it’s all done. Let’s normalize that life isn’t as perfect as movies and ads and Christmas songs make it out to be and let’s model how we can care for ourselves through it all. (Here’s a cheat sheet from my students: mindfulness, connecting to your senses, moving your body, a quiet few minutes in the car or bathroom at a party, deep breathing, ASKING FOR HELP, relying on routines, fresh air and sunlight, getting creative, just to name a few…) P.S. I can’t even begin to describe the relief in their eyes when I asked if any of them had ever felt that way and EVERY hand shot up.
Happy Holidays, all!

'Tis the season for an increase in stress. We can balance those feelings by increasing our gratitude. In this Reiki circle, we will turn our focus to being grateful for all the people and things in our life. When weighed down by pessimism, it can be very hard to be your new self. In this event, we will work on finding gratitude and positivity in the present and developing new mindsets to promote a wellness journey.
Led by Reiki MT and Board-Certified Coach, Kristina Watanabe, the class will begin with an intention and writing a list of things we are grateful for. We will follow with a meditation which includes Reiki. In closing, we will send Reiki to the offering of gratitude that is later transmuted by Kristina.
Space is llimited. There will be yoga mats, zero-gravity chairs, pillows, and blankets available.
When: November 30, 2023
Time: 6pm - 8pm

SCAN works toward creating a world where all children grow up in safe environments free from abuse. All SCAN lessons teach children:
They are all special and have a right to feel safe and be safe.
There are safe and unsafe touches.
Abuse should not be kept a secret.
Abuse should be reported right away and until someone helps.
