Way to go, !

The data is in and residents recycled more than ever before! Check it out ๐Ÿ‘€ โ™ป๏ธ ๐Ÿ‘‡

"DO WE HAVE A DRUM ROLL, PLEASE?"
Kudos goes to Wake County residents! Not only did residents throwaway less trash compared to last year, but they also recycled more than ever!!!
Here's the data:
1. Waste sent to South Wake Landfill decreased from 531,000 tons in FY 2023 to 505,000 tons in FY 2024.
2. Recyclables collected at county drop-off sites increased from 41,000 tons in FY 2023 to 44,000 tons in FY 2024 (figure does not include curbside collections).
3. The recycling rate at county drop-off facilities increased from 44% in FY 2023 to 47% in FY 2024.
To see a decline in tonnages sent to landfill in one of the fastest growing regions in the country is something to brag about! Pat yourselves on the back Wake County! You are making a difference!

On this , weโ€™re celebrating two special members of Dara Demiโ€™s familyโ€”Starry Night and Smarty Pants! ๐Ÿฑ

As โ€™s Chief Communications Officer and a devoted pet adoption advocate, Dara found her family's perfect companions at the WakeGov Pets: Wake County Animal Center. Her twin daughters picked these two loving cats, each with a unique personality, bringing endless purrs, cozy snuggles and joy into their lives.

For Dara, adopting Star and Smarty was more than just filling their home; it was a journey to teach her family the value of giving pets a second chance. Adopting from the County Animal Center isnโ€™t just about finding a petโ€”itโ€™s about creating a family and lifetime of memories. ๐Ÿ’™
