Foodborne illness can strike within 1 to 3 days of eating contaminated food but sometimes as quickly as 20 minutes or as long as 6 weeks later.

To protect yourself and your loved ones, especially those at higher risk (pregnant women, young children, older adults and those with weakened immune systems), follow these four key steps:
