Are you a nurse looking for continuing education credits? Well good news! Wake AHEC, Nursing Education, is an Approved Provider of continuing nursing education by the North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Wake AHEC also provides CEU credit for programs. The North Carolina Board of Nursing accepts CEU for required hours for a nurse to maintain licensure. What would it be like to train for a career in the medical field? Wake AHEC’s Mini-Medical School Summer Camp, in conjunction with Vance-Granville Community College, is an intensive, week-long day camp that uses computational science (computer simulation) and hands-on activities (dissection) to study key aspects of medicine. Topics include anatomy & physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, neurology, cardiology, mental health, epidemiology, medical genetics, and genomics.
