New Life Camp

Tropical Storm Debby is on her way, but we have weathered many storms in our 74 years. The schedule will be a little different, but the campers are going to be safe, loved, and have a GREAT time.
We do empathize with parents who want to keep their kids close to them, and will not discourage you from picking your children up early if that is what you want to do. It will be much smoother if you give us an hour’s notice before you arrive.

We're keeping cool at New Life Camp!

Sometimes a little treat goes a long way! We have an amazing team of dedicated summer staff. Most work many weeks in a row, which helps bring consistency to our campers' experiences. If you would like to drop off some snacks for our counselors/program staff at our main office, we will make sure it gets delivered to their rest area. Fruit, salty snacks, sweet snacks, or pretty much anything that does NOT contain nuts are welcome. Treats = big smiles!

Due to our growing number of campers (which is a great thing!) we do not have the capacity to have Family Night for both Day and Overnight Camps at the same time. Day Camp sign out process on Friday nights will be the same as M-Th. Please pull through the carpool line to sign them out.

A BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE FROM AARON MILLER
New Life Camp was founded by Bob Johnson Sr. Bob would recruit campers from all over the state by going to public schools and telling children that they could come to camp for free if they memorized 300 Bible verses. One day as Bob Senior was traveling to Charlotte to do just that, he passed a sign that pointed to a tiny little town named Denton, NC. Bob followed the Holy Spirit's urging and went to a tiny little school where he asked if he could share an impromptu pitch to get these kids to camp. One little girl took him up on it and memorized those 300 verses. She came to camp in 1960 and, for the first time, heard that Jesus loved her, died for her, and wanted her to follow Him.

That little girl was my mom. She was committed to making sure that all 5 of her kids had that same opportunity, and it was at Camp where I learned spiritual disciplines and found value in being part of God's Kingdom.

Last week, my mom passed away. It was not sudden. It was expected. We are doing fine. We are celebrating the fact that my mom is whole and, for her, all the sad things of this life have come untrue.

I am intensely reminded of the importance of New Life Camp. It changed the trajectory of my life, my mom's life, and so many more will be changed this summer.

Camp meals are a highlight each day! You don't have to cook, but we need volunteers to do last minute prep and help serve food. It is a fun way to see our campers and leaders in action!

Our beautiful new staff Lodge is almost ready! We are looking for some sturdy, gently used (and not too dated) furniture for our 2 lounge areas. The newly designed building has separate lounge areas for girls and guys. Specifically we are in need of comfortable seating, 2 coffee tables, and 4 side tables. We strive to offer every camper spiritual growth, acceptance, adventure, belonging and confidence during their time at NLC

Our new Staff Lodge will house up to 64 summer staff members each week this summer. Many of them will live here several weeks in a row, which is a lot of laundry! Our new building will allow the girls and guys to have their own laundry access, which means we need 2 washers and 2 dryers. Contact our main office if you are interested in helping resolve this need. Thank you!
