Look Into It!
When you enter the Grand Lodge Officer Line, one of the first things you do is search for the one person you believe will come along beside the team and one day lead the North Carolina Freemasons as Grand Master. While there were so many capable people, one man stood out to me over the years: Don Kehler. I saw him at work in committees, shared a funeral with him for a beloved church member at Saint Luke UMC - Sanford NC in a pouring rain, conducted degree work, and, best of all, served as Personal Representative of the Scottish Rite Valley of Greensboro during his time as Secretary of the Valley. Yesterday, in Duck, North Carolina, I was honored to install him as Grand Master of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of North Carolina. Don is a wonderful friend and Masonic brother. He and I have shared many journeys in this fraternity and in life. While some say and do things that tear down, we have always tried to be those who built up. It's what we do. Those who love our work, who are not jealous or envious of it, have a genuine appreciation that Don Kehler exemplifies. Those who criticize what we do and who we are because of a genuine lack of true information would be blessed to understand what they are missing. Grand Master Kehler is the total package. The brotherly love, relief, and truth that we talk about so often is embodied in who he is. I'll be the first to admit the mistakes in life I have made, but appointing him to serve, witnessing his elections, and being able to install him as our Grand Master on December 2, 2023, the sixty-fifth anniversary of his father being raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason will always be one of the best things in life I was ever blessed to be a part of in any way. I hope all of North Carolina will quickly realize what an outstanding leader, human being, friend, and brother we have in Grand Master Don Kehler. He will give us his all. Let us do the same for him. You might ask, how can we? To that, I say what he has asked us to do.
"Look into it! "
Just wow!
