Shane joined the ARC Design Team in the fall of 2023, and since then he's provided design and project coordination for our design team, clients and building partners. He helps ARC grow their ability to display progress to a client by using continuously advancing Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, such as REVIT, to create 3D models of projects. In his spare time, Shane may be found exploring the Black Hills with his wife and three boys or working on restoring cars.

Derrick is our newest member of the ARC creative team. He has broadened our design process with the integration of several new technology tools for computer 3-D modeling and rendering. Derrick is a strong collaborator and is focused on innovation, sustainability, and experiencing space and place. Most importantly, we appreciate his drive to be a team player and amplify the design of every project!

ARC works with advanced technology platforms including Autodesk (Revit and AutoCAD), Virtual Reality (Twin motion, Blender, etc.), Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) We also appreciate and utilize the traditional skills of drawing, art, writing, etc. to develop our designs.

ARC recently celebrated Ryan's 21st anniversary as our Design Coordinator! His commitment to ARC, our clients and building partners shines as he provides design and project coordination for our design team. Utilizing BIM software, Ryan's project involvement allows clients to conceptualize designs and enables ARC’s team to make critical decisions throughout the entire design process. His leadership allows for the daily functions of our design studio to operate progressively, efficiently and collaboratively.

While designing the SDGF&P Outdoor Campus, ARC was intentional to provide sustainable stormwater management that was not only effective, but aesthetically pleasing. Drainage retention was provided for the 32 acre campus which enhanced stormwater quantity and quality, fed the pond and accompanying wetlands as well as aquatic wildlife, and provided campus irrigation from the pond. Visitors connect with the campus as they journey over the bridge to explore the building inside.

As ARC’s project architect, Chris combines design creation with project management. He drive's a client's vision from conception to completion by providing design layouts, coordinating interiors and overseeing construction. With the warmer temperatures, you may find Chris on the golf course when he’s not in the ARC Design Studio!

Meet our business manager extraordinaire, Kristi Button! The ARC Design Team is thankful that she keeps office operations running smoothly, while supporting our creative and innovative design goals, always with a smile. Kristi brings over twenty years of experience in finance and health care industry, and is certified in Lean Process Improvement. Her voice of encouragement can be tangibly seen within the ARC Team, as we inspire to advance our clients' visions into reality.

ARC would like to reintroduce you to our founder, and inspiring design leader, Donovan Broberg! With over 30 years of architecture experience, he drives our team's overall creative process, transforming client visions into built realities. Donovan seeks to clarify and simplify plans, allowing each project to reflect carefully crafted design that positively impacts the way people live and work within their community.

Last fall, ARC International invested in our commitment to sustainability when we installed solar panels to the rooftop of the ARC Design Studio. The tax incentives make it a cost effective opportunity, and ARC hopes to offset our electrical bills by 25%. This has inspired us to attempt to integrate solar (photovoltaic) harvesting into several current projects including a 600-person student housing complex, a new climbing gym and a large school addition.

Donovan stopped by Fork Real Community Cafe yesterday to support furthering their mission to reduce hunger and build food security within our local Rapid City community! The ARC Team is excited to see Fork Real's food truck start rolling!

So exciting to see the exterior develop and progress! Continue to watch this remodel come together on Highway 16 in Rapid City!

The ARC Design Team prolonged Christmas this year and celebrated at the end of February! It was a great evening filled with laughter, conversation and generous, creative gifts!

The Freight House design and construction teams re-purposed this historic, Rapid City landmark structure into the Federal-Public Defenders office for western South Dakota. The office accentuates the historic structure’s wood trusses, masonry walls, and large openings converted from doors to windows. The office has a secure delineation between public and staff areas.
