Now in his fourth season as the IronPigs baseball announcer, Justin Choate '14 began his announcing career with the Reading Fightins, half way through his communications degree. As if Senior VP and Chief Edu Officer at WITF, wasn’t enough, Andrea Pfaff Kolb ’08 is also a multilingual consultant to the PA Dept. of Edu.
But it was during her junior year at that Kolb says her world changed profoundly.
“Everything I thought I knew about myself and my place in the world changed that semester,” Kolb said. “My interest in critically understanding life across time and place was awakened and I realized the power of what Albright College had given me.”

Scott is an active alumnus who hosted the Albright College fashion department at New York Fashion Week for many years, bringing notoriety to the College and priceless experience for our students and alumni. Scott was also the recipient of the Mary Fry Good '49 Service to Alma Mater award in 2023.

Exciting news! PJ Dick is pleased to have been selected by Albright College as the construction manager for their new Student Success Commons and Library. Albright’s Student Success Commons and Library will be the cornerstone of Reading’s Innovation Corridor.

We are excited to work with Albright College, Kimmel Bogrette Architecture + Site, and the Reading community in delivering a re-imagined, 21st century library that immerses learning in collaboration, mixes traditional media with emergent media, and includes the wider community in educational and cultural initiatives.

Four students — Rilee Chichester, Bryce Cheesman, Iz Kanet, and Hannah Tudge — are studying abroad in Granada, Spain this month with Michelle McGowan, Ph.D., visiting assistant professor of Spanish. The experience includes cultural excursions and intensive Spanish courses (20 hours a week!) at the Centro de Lenguas Modernas.

A loud road of goes out to Brian O'Doherty '07 who was recently hired as the new director of undergraduate admissions at Neumann University in Aston, Pa. He lives in Glenolden, PA with his wife Jennifer who is a Realtor at Coldwell Banker Preferred and his two children Declan, 10 and Maeve, 9.

The alumni office is excited to announce that Albright alumnus Clint Stalnecker ‘09 has published two papers in “Science” pertaining to his post-doctoral research. Just prior to, and right after, completing his Ph.D. in chemical biology at Cornell University, Clint taught at Albright in the biochemistry curriculum.

Clint is currently an assistant professor in the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at Chapel Hill doing this research. The Albright Alumni office sadly shares the news of the loss of our esteemed and much loved Professor Emerita of English, Dr. Patricia Hummel. Dr. Hummel was loved by all who knew her. She recently attended the class of 1964 60th reunion at Alumni Weekend in April 2024, inspiring laughter and memories of good times with the Albright alumni family. She will be greatly missed.

Please note that a memorial service will be held on June 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Merner-Pfeiffer-Klein Memorial Chapel at Albright College.
