Youth and Family Programs was established in 1984. We work with children age infant to 21 years old who have been detained by Butte and Shasta County. We also offer Transitional Housing and the Independent Living Program for our youth in extended foster care. There are over 58,000 children in the foster care system in California. Kicking off the month of May by helping to bring more awareness to foster care 💙
💙💙60,000 children in California are currently in the foster care system.
💙💙46% of those 60,000 children are currently residing in foster care with a non relative placement.
Everyday the phone rings and the outpouring support of those in the community comes in. Wanting to help, to volunteer, donate and even open their home to be a part of that 46% making a safe space for kids in the foster care system.
Join us this month, as we navigate and bring some awareness to the foster care system. We will share some ways that you can help us support these children in our communities and keep the love growing that surrounds each of them💙👶🏼👧🏼🧒🏻👦🏽👧🏾🏡
