We are saddened to report that 34-year-old Officer Jordan Jackson died from his injuries in a collision early Monday morning while on duty. Officer Jackson has been a valuable member of the Bellevue Police Department since 2018. After two years on the force, Jackson transferred to the traffic unit as a motorcycle officer. He was recently honored as employee of the quarter for his excellent quality of work and service to the community. His supervisor commended Jackson for his leadership in the department and eagerness to take on additional responsibility.
“We are devastated by Officer Jackson’s tragic death,” said Chief Wendell Shirley. “Our hearts go out to his wife, two children, his family and friends, and extended BPD family as they grieve. This is a huge loss for the entire community.”
Before becoming a police officer in March 2018, Jackson was an EMT, volunteer firefighter, and a member of the King County Sheriff’s Officer Search and Rescue Volunteer K-9 Unit.
Officer Jackson was born in Spokane, grew up in Bellevue and graduated from Issaquah High School and Central Washington University. He leaves behind his wife and two young children.
Funeral arrangements are underway and will be announced once they are finalized.

In addition to this community campaign, Officer Van Eaton is also an active committee member for the Jayme Biendl Memorial 5K Walk/Run

The Monroe Police Department and City of Monroe are once again participating in a Toys for Tots campaign, coordinated by our very own, Officer Shaun Van Eaton. Beginning today, you can drop off new, unwrapped toys, in the lobby of the Police Department or City Hall. Collection hours are Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Donations will be accepted until Thursday, December 15th. This annual event would not be possible without the generous donations we have received in prior years. Thank you to everyone who has made this program a success, including our very own, Officer Shaun Van Eaton.
