🦥This , we want to introduce you to Harriet, a feisty two-fingered sloth who has traveled all over Costa Rica!

Harriet was originally rescued by Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary before being sent to our friends at the Toucan Rescue Ranch. She undertook this journey with her best friend Aurora who was found at a similar age and time. The two of them made their way to their next, and hopefully FINAL pre-release home here at The Sloth Institute.

Upon arrival, she rapidly gained healthy weight after indulging in her favorite leaves. Her personality is anything but easy-going, but this is commonly found in two-fingered sloths due to their natural mannerisms and is why rescuing and rehabilitating them should be left to the professionals.

🌳Both her and Aurora were recently moved from our lab to our spacious pre-release enclosure where they are now thriving and almost ready for release!

📃When symbolically adopting any of our rescued sloths, you receive an adoption certificate and help support our life-saving work to rescue, rehabilitate and release sloths back into the wild where they belong.
