Tim Griffith Foundation
The Tim Griffith Foundation Mission is to strengthen our communities by providing support to
those that can be overlooked by our society.
Specifically, we strive to help those affected by
addiction, loss, or without access to educational resources. The Tim Griffith Foundation helps to heal and strengthen Bay Area communities by providing support and services to those affected by addiction, violence and loss.
We are proud to share that Stacey Redman and Tim Meadows (friend of the Foundation) were featured presenters at the Compassionate Friends National Conference on July 12-14 in New Orleans. This conference is targeted toward bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. Stacey and Tim Meadows having both lost a son and both started and run a Foundation, were asked to lead a break-out session titled: The Power of Honoring Your Child By Starting a Memorial Fund". We are certain this presentation will support the bereaved attendees and will help them honor their children in their communities across the nation.

What are you doing Sunday 4/28 at 5:00? Let's meet at Club Fox in Redwood City to listen to great live music and raise money for the Tim Griffith Foundation! Here's the full story...
Zach Fest ’24 offers music and a message Redwood City musician Garrick Davis is organizing and performing at Zach Fest '24, an April 28 concert in memory of his son, Zach Davis-Price, that will also raise funds for local nonprofits.
The first Meadowlark Mother's Grief Retreat of 2024 was held on February 2nd-4th. Six Mothers attended the retreat held in Graton, CA. We were able to see healing begin in these woman as they listened to each other with understanding hearts and shared their depth of sadness and the love they will forever hold for their children. The mother's care over the weekend was managed by Pam Smith and Corky Schuster and the grief work was facilitated by Stacey Redman and Maria Segal.
This retreat was made possible because of the generous donations of our Foundation supporters. Thank you! For more information on Meadowlark Retreats including future retreat dates, visit our website.

We are pleased to announce that our Board of Directors is once again expanding to ensure we have the leadership and talent to increase the reach of our services in our communities.
We have named Maria Segal and Pam Smith to the Tim Griffith Foundation Board. Both Maria and Pam have been an integral part of our Meadowlark Grief Retreats through the years. Each attended a Meadowlark Retreat after the death of a son. Maria's son Andrew passed away in 2009 while attending the University of Arizona and Pam's son Trevor died at the young age of thirteen in 2012. Pam and Maria found the grief retreats to be an important part of their healing journey and wanted to volunteer for the Foundation to help other mothers grieving the death of a child.
Maria is a certified grief retreat facilitator, and Pam is a coordinator of grief retreat logistics including shopping for food and supplies, cooking and taking care of the mother's comfort needs during the retreat. Pam now claims she leaves retreats having "gotten more out of the experience than she 's given." Maria's decision to become a facilitator comes from the belief that helping others is key to her own grief journey. Both women give hope to all Mothers attending retreats as they are role models of women who once again live productive lives even while living with grief.

You can change a life with a gift today! This year, there are more of us than ever who need the strength we give each other, when we all show up to give and recieve.
A mother who attended one of our grief retreats for parents who have lost a child said:
"The parents I met there are keeping me alive. We take car of each other. They understand exactly how I feel."
You can help make these life-changing moments possible, by giving to TGF today!
Our goal is $8,000 and we're only 15% of the way there, please make a gift today! Any gift you make will be DOUBLED by a generous matching gift from Deb Blackburn and an anonymous donor.

We're feeling like the world opened up a little more this year. Families gathered for holidays, businesses and schools reopened and friends reconnected after years apart. Yet it seems easier to go places, yet tougher to truly “show up”.
As Brene Brown’s has said, “Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen”. Amazingly, you have demonstrated that courage. Over these last difficult years, you've showed up. You’ve showed up with empathy. And with kindness. And with the willingness to be seen.
You’ve generously given to grieving parents, young men in recovery and students striving for change. In doing so, you’ve made it possible for them to show up, too.
And this Giving Tuesday, we are asking you to choose to continue to courageously show up for our community by making a gift to TGF. If you'd like to give today, you don't have to wait - we're opening our Giving Tuesday campaign early! Visit our webpage at:

Thank you for your courage, and thank you for showing up with TGF. ❤️
Well we did it! We held our first in-person Gala in 3 years last night at the San Mateo Elks Lodge. It was a huge success and although we kept the crowd a bit smaller we were very pleased with our fundraising results. We are still tabulating but it appears we are at the $100k mark! Thank you so very much!
It was a great opportunity that reminded us how important a community is to each of us.
We heard testimonials regarding our scholarship program as well as a mom from a Meadowlark Retreat. Tim’s brother Josh spoke and shared the work TGF has been doing these past few years.
If you were unable to attend but would still like to give please go to our website: www.timgriffithfoundation.org
Or plan on considering a gift on Guving Tuesday this year, November 29.
We are so grateful for all of your support and wish you a warm and peaceful holiday season.
It was a great day on the golf course yesterday in Half Moon Bay! The sun was out and everyone was happy to be on the Ocean Course at the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay. Thank you to our wonderful tournament sponsors including Dimerico, AccesseHR, Terrace Consulting, GSI Insurance and Ameriprise for making this event possible. Congratulations to the winning foursome: David and Garett Lentz, Thor Berge, and Joe Shaughnessy.
We raised a record amount of money to use for the important work we do every year. A big thank you to TGF board member Stephen Hsu who made this tournament a great success. We hope you can all join us again next year!
We are excited to share a success story of one of the Stanford University Interns sponsored by the Tim Griffith Foundation! Elizabeth Luna accepted a permanent position in the Psychology department after completing her internship. She interviewed well, and impressed the hiring manager by holding down two jobs while attending college full time! Outstanding young woman!
Join us at our Annual Gala on November 5th to hear more about TGF Scholarships, Internships and all the good work we are accomplishing!

"The fact is, with every friendship you make and every bond of trust you establish, you are shaping the image of America projected to the rest of the world." ~ Michelle Obama
Happy 4th of July to our Tim Griffith Foundation community of friends!
Dad: A son's first hero, a daughter's first love. Happy Father's Day!
We honor those who bravely served in our armed forces, protecting our freedoms. As we gather with our friends and family, let's especially remember those who were lost in the effort, and send prayers of comfort and gratitude to their family members.
Let's pray as a community of empathy that stands against violence, who recognizes the lifelong grieving process ahead for the students, staff, families and community members in Ulvade Texas.
May they all find comfort and healing within each other in the coming days, months and years ahead, and above all may they remember the beautiful lives of the people lost far too young today.
We wanted to share these insightful thoughts from the Crisis Text Line as many of us are confronted with feelings of anger and helplessness at the continued violence taking place. Please read, and take good care of each other....
"The acts of violence against Black and Asian communities over the weekend mark a moment of devastation and trauma for America. Once again, we watch in horror as more mass shootings take place in the United States. This could be triggering for anyone—yet, for Asian and Black folks living through compounding events of targeted violence, the pain is far greater.
Because acute and sustained trauma can trigger anxiety, exhaustion, and loneliness, coming together at a time like this is vital for mental health—whether to grieve, connect, offer support to another, or simply take a moment to notice what we feel. There is power in community, in knowing that we are not alone, and that there are resources available to all of us to help us cope.
Here are just a few things we can do to support ourselves and each other during this time of heightened distress:
Focus your mind. When the news is swirling, it can be easy to get overwhelmed quickly. Try breathing for a few minutes with specific attention to every inhale and exhale.
Connect with intention. In moments when you’re feeling overwhelmed or isolated, it’s often helpful to surround yourself with people who love and care about you. Try reaching out to friends and family and be as specific as you can about how you need and want them to support you."
And thank you for the support you provide to the Foundation and the people we serve who you may not even know. Simply because you know others in our community are in need."
