🚔 Yesterday was a fantastic day at Shop with a Cop Silicon Valley! CHP Redwood City, , military and many allied agencies/government teamed up with over 275 amazing 3rd graders for breakfast and a special shopping spree at Target. It was a joy promoting education while creating unforgettable memories. Together, we’re building brighter futures! 🎯📚

🎉🎄 Join us at the California Highway Patrol Redwood City area on Dec 9th for an unforgettable Xmas event! 🚗 Park on the streets or at the DMV lot. Please arrive prior to 11:30 am (gates will be closed for safety precautions)

🚁 Get ready for an epic entrance as Santa arrives in a helicopter! ❄️ Slide into the holiday spirit with our snow slide, and check out fire trucks, AMR, etc! We will have snacks, food, and arts & crafts with plenty of gifts for the little ones! Don’t miss this festive celebration! 🎅✨

Our annual CHiPs For Kids toy drive is well underway, and today was a great day for toy donations. Terry Huskey and everyone at Tournament For Tots Softball came through once again and donated a massive amount of toys on behalf of their organization. We were also lucky enough to get a visit from Carlos at who also brought a huge donation and helped us pack our trailer full.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to this great program. The CHiPs for Kids toy drive has been a CHP tradition for decades and always goes to benefit organizations based in the communities we serve. If you have any new, unwrapped toys that you would like to donate this year, please visit your nearest CHP office to drop them off.

🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️ CHP Redwood City participated in a bike rodeo at Fiesta Gardens International School with helmet fittings, ensuring safety for all the young riders! 🌟 Kids left with fitted helmets and new bicycles!

Remember to always wear your helmets when you’re biking, skating, or doing anything where you might bump your head. Don’t forget to also use your reflective lights when you’re riding at night!

🚧 TONIGHT STARTS THE WEEK LONG CLOSURE OF THE DUMBARTON BRIDGE EASTBOUND 10/30-11/3 🚧

Starting Monday 10/30 through Friday 11/3 from 7pm-5am ALL LANES of the eastbound Dumbarton Bridge will be CLOSED for shoulder widening and installation of outer barriers. The bridge will remain open in the westbound direction. Please plan ahead. During the closure, crews will work to repave the roadway from the end of bridge to the toll plaza, creating a smoother ride for motorists. CHP and Caltrans are aware of the inconvenience and impacts the closure will cause the motoring public and thanks you for your patience as we work to enhance safety and give motorists a smoother ride on the Dumbarton Bridge.

Detours
Motorists headed to the East Bay from San Francisco and San Mateo can take the San Mateo Bridge (State Route 92) from the City of San Mateo to Hayward.

Motorists headed to Milpitas or Fremont from the South Bay can take Calaveras Boulevard (State Route 237).

Detours will be routed along Industrial Way and Holly Street.

Why: Replacing the Cordilleras Creek Bridge with a single span bridge

***Please avoid the area during this time and expect delays!***

Both lanes are open on State Route 92 between Half Moon Bay and Quarry Road.

******TRAFFIC ALERT******

On September 30, 2023 at approximately 2:30 am, a vehicle crashed into an active power line on SR-92 between Quarry Road and the unincorporated area of Half Moon Bay (SR-1). Due to the power line repairs, SR-92 will have one-way traffic control in place in both directions until further notice. Expect delays and use alternative routes.

The CHP Redwood City Office welcomes two new officers, who will be starting their field training with their Field Training Officers (FTO) this upcoming week!

They recently graduated from the in West Sacramento after 26 weeks of rigorous training and will now put their skills to the test for the next 3 months!

Deputy Clinkunbroomer with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was killed in the line of duty.
