July is UV Safety Month, and we wanted to share some sun safety tips:

1. Wear UV-blocking sunglasses.
2. Wear protective clothing for your skin and complement your outfit with a hat to protect your eyes.
3. When possible, seek shade in the summer.
4. Perform regular skin checks and consult a dermatologist for regular skin exams.

According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, studies show that long-term exposure to bright sunlight may increase the risk of cataracts and growths on the eye, including cancer. The American Academy of Dermatology estimates that one in five Americans will be diagnosed with skin cancer in their lifetime. When caught early, skin cancer is highly treatable. When caught early, skin cancer is highly treatable.

Protect yourself from the sun’s harmful rays, this month and every month!

As people and as leaders, sometimes we may find it difficult not to fix everything, including things that might be beyond our control.

The LEAD Certificate Program is designed to develop future leaders in ophthalmic practice management.

This nine-month educational program consists of nine interactive modules covering a wealth of management skills and topics. The program is limited to three cohorts of 25 participants each, with a limit of 4 registrants per practice. The next class will run June 2024-February 2025.

This program was designed by American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA) in partnership with BSM Consulting.
