****Maple St Structure Fire****
Our dept was dispatched at 12:24 this morning to assist the Rhinelander Fire Dept with a Structure fire on Maple St. Rhinelander had also activated MABAS to the box level bringing in resources from Crescent FD, Newbold FD and Oneida County Ambulance. Our dept was requested for our Heavy Rescue and additional manpower.
Our dept was ok scene for approximately 4 hours

****Vehicle Rollover Roosevelt Rd****
Firefighters were dispatched last night at 9:16 pm to a reported one vehicle rollover with unknown injuries on Roosevelt Rd off Lakeshore Dr. Units arrived on scene to a vehicle that had left the roadway on a corner resulting in the vehicle striking two trees before resting on its top. Surprisingly both the driver and passenger escaped with minor cuts and scrapes. Speed appeared to be a factor in crash.
Oneida County Sheriff's Dept and Ambulance also responded to this call.
Firefighters were on scene for approximately 1.5 hours

****Lost Hunter Training****
This past Monday our dept trained on the scenario of a lost Hunter in the woods. With the annual 9 day gun hunt approaching this weekend firefighters trained on locating someone in the woods using GPS coordinates that would be given in the event of a actual call if the Hunter was using a cellphone or other GPS device. Firefighters from our dept and several from Rhinelander also trained on loading and transporting a patient out of the woods with our UTV in the event they were injured
****Vehicle Accident County W****
Rescue 1 responded to a one vehicle accident at the intersection of County W and North Birchwood Dr. The driver was transported to Aspirus Hospital for evaluation. Firefighters were on scene for approximately half hour
****Vehicle Rollover County C****
Firefighters responded this morning shortly after 4am for a reported one vehicle rollover accident on County Highway C near South Limber Lost Rd. The driver was transported to Aspirus Hospital for non life threatening injuries. Firefighters remained on scene until the wrecker company removed the vehicle.

Earlier today some members delivered the collections from our Open House last weekend. 312 pounds of non perishable food items were donated to the local food pantry and supplies were donated to the Oneida County Humane Society. Thank you to everyone that donated.
Happy Halloween from Pine Lake FD. We had a few members this evening participating in the city wide trick or treating. One truck was places at the old hospital and another truck by the court house. Trick or Treat

****Open House/Haunted Town Hall****
Last night night we held our annual open house/haunted town hall at our Station 1. Members and volunteers have been busy this past week converting the town hall into a Haunted maze. This year was again a great turn out with over 800 attendees.
We sincerely say "Thank You" to all that attended and for all the donations we received for the food pantry, Animal Shelter and Fire Dept.
Final preparations are complete for our annual Open House and Haunted Town Hall. Be sure to stop out tomorrow. Event runs from 4-7pm. This is a free event. Donations are accepted. We also have drop locations for non perishable food items for the food pantry and items for the local Humane Society

****Stuck Semi River Rd****
Our dept responded just before 11am this morning for a delivery semi that was trying to back into a job site off River Rd became stuck when it backed off the driveway. The semi blocked both lanes causing this portion of River Rd near Landing Rd to be blocked off until the wrecker company pulled it out.
Firefighters were on scene for approximately 1.5 hours.
Pine Lake Rescue 1 and Rescue 2 responded to this call.
****Vehicle Accident River Rd****
Firefighters responded to a reported one vehicle rollover on River Rd near the entrance to the Hodag Country Festival around 2pm this afternoon. Call was paged with unknown injuries. Firefighters arrived on scene just minutes after initial page as there were members at the Station. A passerby reported that the driver had been picked up by another vehicle and left the scene right after accident occurred. Firefighters provided traffic control as the wrecker company uprighted vehicle and loaded onto flatbed

****Monthly Training****
Last night our dept. trained with another crew from Rhinelander FD. This Training was similar to the past two trainings but we added more rope rescue with the use of Rhinelanders Ladder to simulate another worst case scenario with confined space and limited access. While these skills may not be used often it's important to train and refresh so we are all prepared when called upon.
****Debris Fire Dundee Rd****
Firefighters were dispatched just before 9:30 this morning to assist the DNR with extinguishing a unauthorized burning of debris fire on Dundee Rd. Firefighters were on scene for approximately half hour

****Fire Prevention****
Our Dept teamed up once again with Pelican Fire & Rescue for Fire Prevention at Pelican Elementary School. It's always a great time teaching Fire safety to the younger generations and explaining to them the equipment we carry on all of our trucks and what it's used for.
****Grants Received****
Our Dept was recently awarded two grants totaling $3000 to be applied to the purchase of a new AED to be placed on our first out Rescue. Grants were received from Wisconsin Public Service and Mutual Of Wausau Insurance Corporation. We are very honored to be receiving these grants allowing us to upgrade crucial lifesaving equipment.

****Vehicle Accident Pine Lake Rd****
This past Saturday firefighters were dispatched just after 4:30pm to a reported one vehicle rollover on Pine Lake Rd just south of South Pine Rd. The driver was treated on scene for minor injuries and declined transport. Firefighters provided traffic control while the wrecker company removed the vehicle.
Apparatus from Pine Lake included Rescue 1. Units on scene for approximately half hour.
****State Hwy 17 Accident****
Firefighters responded just after 7:30 this evening to a reported Two vehicle head on collision at intersection of State Hwy 17 and West Balsam Ln with injuries and reports of one vehicle possibly starting on fire. Firefighters arrived on scene to one pickup blocking the highway with fluid leaking and vehicle debris covering the scene and no visible fire. Both vehicles were traveling south bound when the front pickup went to turn onto East Balsam Ln and was rear-ended by the vehicle behind. Driver of the striking vehicle was being attended to by a passerby until First Responders and Paramedics arrived. This driver was transported to Aspirus Hospital with non life threatening injuries. The two occupants of the other vehicle were out and stating no injuries. Emergency personnel shut down the highway and rerouted traffic onto Cty W and Birchwood Drive. Firefighters assisted with clean up while wrecker companies removed both vehicles.
Firefighters were on scene for approximately 45 minutes.
Pelican 1st Responders, Rhinelander Medic 9-1, Rhinelander Police Dept, Oneida County Sheriff's Dept and Ambulance also responded to this call.
****Monthly Training****
Last night's Training our dept trained with Rhinelander FD utilizing our bus again setting up another vehicle accident scenario involving a school bus and a vehicle. This again was another very good training covering some complex scenarios involving use of struts, airbags, spreaders, confined space and rope rescue. Also a great opportunity to train with another dept and on their equipment as well as them training on ours.

Tonight we participated in the Hodag Football Service night where they honor First Responders, Military and Veterans. Here are some pics from the procession from the High School to Mike Webster Stadium. Fire dept personnel stayed to watch the Hodags win against Hayward 13-7
