Newbold Fire Department
Established in 1968, we are a volunteer department serving the Town of Newbold in Wisconsin.
A few more things you’ll find in the raffles this Saturday! Join us starting at 11 am!
Special thanks to Argonne Lumber for huge assistance in this one. One of our big prizes, chainsaw (16” blade), charger and battery.
This picture can never do this basket justice, but special thanks to Tom Doyle Lake Association friends who make the best themed baskets each year!!!! Come see us 8/17 for a chance to win it!
We have not one but TWO great kayaks in our raffle. Special thanks from both Minocqua and Rhinelander Walmart stores and an anonymous donor assistance! Can’t do this without you guys supporting us all!
Up first, donations from The Hiker Box in Eagle River for our raffle. We thank them for being a silver level sponsor (chair we have is more of a tan than one shown, pack is actual). Check their store out on Railroad St. - awesome merchandise!
Come visit Newbold Fire Department today at the Oneida County Fair and buy your gun and ice castle raffle tickets!
We are thankful for the donation of Liquid I.V. to Newbold Fire Department. It has already been used for rehab for firefighters and K9 Handlers. Keeping our volunteers going helps us be able to fight fires, respond to medical needs and find the lost. Thank you for your generosity!
Tickets are also now available for this beauty! See a local Newbold member and also watch for them between now and February at various local places. More announcements to come of where to find it to view and buy tickets.
It’s that time of year again! Find your local Newbold Fire Department member for tickets! Also mark your calendars for Saturday, August 17th for our annual picnic/fundraiser (separate announcement coming soon)!
It's that time of year where our K9 Teams have to go through recertification. A great way you can help us is to track lay for a partial day or day for us! (Saturday, June 8th, Sunday, June 9th or Monday, June 10th).
You would walk roughly a mile at a time through varying conditions (urban, woods, etc.) under the direction of an outside evaluator then sit at the end and read a book or whatever staying put for approximately 1-3 hours until the K9 finds you. You'll get a free T-shirt and the appreciation of our team for helping us do what we do finding lost people. Over 18 is preferable but will take teens with parent permission and sign-off. We haven't left anyone out there...yet...so if looking to lose a family member, we're not the group to do it for you. If you have any questions, please message us. Link to the survey to volunteer is here:

Congratulations to Mike Boyd, winner of the Ice Castle Raffle in 2024 (pictured on the left with Chief Mark Fetzer on the right). An extra special thanks for also donating $1,000 towards the Annual Ice Fishing Tournament.
A huge loss in Burnsville, MN today. Our prayers for all their families and friends during this time.
Our office stands with the men and women of the Burnsville, Minnesota Police and Fire Departments and with the family, friends and colleagues of 27-year-old Police Officer Matthew Ruge, 27-year-old Police Officer Paul Elmstrand and 40-year-old Firefighter / Paramedic Adam Finseth. All three were shot and killed very early this morning after responding to a domestic violence situation and a report of family members in danger.😢

Saturday, Newbold and many other departments assisted Rhinelander PD and Rhinelander Fire with blocking off Brown Street for the community trick or treating. Lots of great costumes, polite kids and families and hopefully everyone had a great, safe time. A few of our crew dressed up for the occasion!
Last night we conducted tree stand rescue training for our members in preparation for the upcoming season. Firefighters often do much more than fight fires and this is one of the many things we may encounter. According to the DNR, "Wood can rot, tree steps snap, railings fail and climbers slip. None of the hunters that wound up in the trauma center in our study considered these possibilities when they began their climbs." https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/education/OutdoorSkills/TreestandSafety
When heading out this fall, have a plan and remember just a few of the basics:
1. Bring safety equipment including a harness with a fall arrest system and please USE it. Like life jackets, they are only good if worn.
2. Have 3 points of contact when climbing.
3. Have a way to communicate if needing help and also let someone know where you are and time of return so they can call for help if you are past your check-in time and may be injured and not able to call.
4. Practice good hunter safety with your weapons.
See the attached article for more Tree Stand Safety. Be safe out there and enjoy the northwoods.
Thank you all for an awesome day, all the wonderful support in many ways on our department. We apologize for most rushing off to a really bad call and ending on that note. More to come on how we did later after we clean up. Thanks for the random people who stuck around to lend a hand with tables and chairs. Congratulations to this year's gun raffle winner - Luis Roman (a Newbold resident)!!!!
It’s happening now! Join us!
Extra special thanks to Tom Doyle for donating the corn for tomorrow - such a pleasant surprise! No, it’s not free for guests, just means more for the department. 😉 See you at 11 AM!!!! TOMORROW!
Check out this adorable rocking motorcycle donated by the McNaughton Correctional Institution!
Another walk down memory lane. 10 Years ago setting up for the picnic. I spy Mark Lipinski, Heather Riesbeck, Scott Hefter (now The Rhinelander Fire Department), Steve Siefert, Dwayne Riesbeck and Eric Peterson.
Thank you Blain's Farm and Fleet in Rhinelander for your support of Newbold Fire Department and the community!
Thank you A-1 Septic Service for your continued support of Newbold!
Thank you Pitlik and Wick! An excellent prize!
A glimpse of more prizes…and did we mention 2 kayaks?!
Time to thank Walmart Rhinelander and Walmart Minocqua for their support of the community and also our anonymous donor of the grill.
Did you know your average volunteer gives hundreds of hours of their time to serve you throughout the year with others logging over a thousand hours in a year? Whether it be Fire, EMS, K9 Search and Rescue, monthly meetings, trainings, recertifications, maintaining and checking equipment, community education and more. Here is just of glimpse of the extra chaos involved in hosting our annual picnic which involves more hours. Please help us celebrate this service by many by joining us Saturday to say, “hi”, have some Tom Doyle corn, relax to the music, let the kids run the inflatable obstacle course, check out equipment and more. Invite a friend or a dozen and get in on the raffles. Ice Castle (drawing in February), everything else drawn Saturday. (Gun, kayaks, grill, TV, gift certificates and more.) We look forward to meeting you or seeing you again!
Calling all kids. Some Raffle items for them and two inflatables on Saturday. $7 wristbands unlimited runs. If they bring a towel and extra clothes we might be able to put water in one. We’ll see how conditions and demand go. 😉
