Alzheimer’s disease and related forms of dementia are reaching worldwide epidemic proportions. There are currently 47 million people worldwide living with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. If no cure is found that number is expected to grow to 76 million by 2030. In the United States alone, there are 5.7 million people living with Alzheimer’s. It’s the 6th leading cause of the death and is the only cause among the top 10 that cannot be prevented, cured, or slowed.

It’s a Good Week to Have a Great Week! 😊
In 1945, World War II veteran Raymond Weeks from Birmingham, Alabama, had the idea to expand Armistice Day to celebrate all veterans, not just those who died in World War I. Weeks led a delegation to Gen. Dwight Eisenhower, who supported the idea of National Veterans Day. Weeks led the first national celebration in 1947 in Alabama and annually until his death in 1985. President Reagan honored Weeks at the White House with the Presidential Citizenship Medal in 1982 as the driving force for the national holiday. Elizabeth Dole, who prepared the briefing for President Reagan, determined Weeks as the "Father of Veterans Day".
Celebrated every November, National Family Caregivers Month (NFCM) is a time to recognize and honor family caregivers across the country. It offers an opportunity to raise awareness of caregiving issues, educate communities, and increase support for caregivers.
