Enhancing our children's education The R-STEM PTO is a group of parents and teachers who are working together to build a community at the Richfield STEM School.

We support the school by helping them in various ways including fundraising, event planning, and coordinating Volunteers. The PTO meets monthly to plan events and assist the school. Here is the schedule for when classes will visit the BOGO Book Fair this week. Each student will have the opportunity to select 2 free books during their classroom visit, courtesy of the STEM PTO!

The book fair will also be open after school until 3 p.m. today and Thursday, May 30. We'll also have our "Freeze Pops and (Book) Fair" event from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday. You can visit the book fair and enjoy freeze pops on the STEM playground.

Join us tomorrow (Wednesday, May 29th) for Freeze Pops and (Book) Fair!

Families can stop in the gym to check out the special BOGO deal at the fair, and then head out to the STEM playground to enjoy a freeze pop and time with friends!

And pop over to the RDLS playground where Junta Latina is hosting an event to learn more about activities happening at the public library this summer!

Our Spring Scholastic Book Fair starts next Friday, March 15! We can’t wait to see you there!

We're nearing the end of our first annual R-STEM Read-a-Thon. So, far we've raised more than $2,700 on our way to our $6,000 goal for our Summer Books 4 Kids program.

You still have time to make an online donation to your child's class: https://myfunrun.com/rstemreadathon.

We're extending the deadline to turn in any cash/check donations and reading tally sheets to Monday, March 11. All students who turn in their donations and sheets by the deadline will be eligible for prizes!

The class in each grade with the highest number of minutes read AND the class with the highest amount raised with will win a Popcorn/Movie party. Our current leaders are:

K-Hamren
1-Hutson
2-Olson
3-Topp
4-Allen
5-McMillan

The top student in each grade with the highest total minutes read will receive a $20 gift certificate to use on books at our March Scholastic Book Fair. Students in 2nd and 3rd place for each grade will receive $10 to use at the Book Fair.

Our first annual R-STEM Read-a-Thon is now underway! Our goal is to raise $6,000 for our Summer Books4Kids program!

How does it work?

-Students/families should track their at-home reading minutes each day between Friday, March 1st and Thursday, March 7th. Tracking sheets were sent home with students on Friday.

-Have your student(s) ask family and friends to donate to the read-a-thon on their behalf. Donations will be tracked by class, so let your donors know the name of your child's teacher ahead of time.

-All reading trackers and donations must be turned in by Friday, March 8 to be eligible for prizes.
