The Richland Rod & Gun Club was organized in 1945 with an objective of promoting hunting, fishing and conservation in what is now known as the Tri-City area.
The Club was recognized as the outstanding group of its kind in the state by the Washington State Sportsmen's Council. The Club was voted this top honor in 1953, 1955 and 1958

Moonlight Catfish challenge starts this (Friday )after 5 pm! Sign up or call 509-551-6785 to enter! Weigh in is at 4 pm (Saturday)followed by a fish fry and potluck! We need entries! Let my know! Fun event! Open to RRGC members! Let’s get out and catch some fish!

We have a great and busy week coming up here with the Richland rod and gun club! We will be having another Friday fish fry June 7th for members only and guests! Gazebo #4 Columbia point. Great event to attend and reason to join the RRGC!! REMINDER!! We have a a GREAT seminar this Tuesday at our general meeting June 4th at the Richland public library with two big hitter guides Mark Hall and Mike Posey. You will leave loaded with knowledge on how to catch catfish! Catch some and bring them to the fish fry?

Fish Fry Friday was a delicious success! Fish Fry Chef, Richard Sharp cooked up various types of fish as fried and baked tasty treats. This event will be worth joining the club for (only members and guests are allowed to the event). There will be another Fish Fry Friday event on June 7 plus Gazebo #4 has also been reserved for our Moonlight Catfish Derby weigh in and meal on June 22 from 3:00pm to 9:00pm. The Richland rod and gun club will be having their Fish Fry Friday tomorrow May 10 for club members and guests only at gazebo #4 at Columbia point just under the I-82 pasco/ Richland bridge beginning at 5 pm till 7 pm
followed by a bank fishing tutorial @7 (which is open to the public) on Sockeye fishing from shore! Set up, bait, and equipment along with where will be discussed after the dinner ! Non members are welcome to attend the sockeye seminar! Sockeye are on the way???

The Richland Rod and Gun Club tagged fish that were planted at Columbia Park Pond for Kids Fishing Day. Prizes for the tagged fish were donated by RRGC, Griggs, Texas Roadhouse, Amazon, Dairy Queen, Ranch and Home, and Deadworm Fishing. Here are pictures of some of the lucky prize recipients.

Another Kids and special needs event in the books! I’m whipped! Had some fantastic helpers and many limits were filled Columbia park pond will be good for under 14 and over 70 for the next week! KOE was a success!

We received this great Thank You note from After School Matters students at East Gate Elementary School.
Students at Mid-Columbia Partnership learned about wood ducks and assembled wood duck nesting boxes from RRGC volunteers.
Libby Middle School students assembled wood duck boxes and learned why they are an important conservation tool for cavity nesting ducks.
Cleaning out old nesting material in wood duck boxes today and opened up this box to discover beer cans! Under all the beer cans we found a successful wood duck nest with 12 membranes. Total of 43 cans and 4 chip bags inside the box. At least the rest of the day was better.

Well another Sportsmans show is a wrap! 1200+ fish were taken with the assistance of many RRGC members and volunteers! Only 88 remained at closeout! Thank you to all who assisted with construction and tear down of the pond! Until next year! Stay safe out there!
This group of youth assembled 5 wood duck boxes at 2024 Tri-Cities Sportsmen Show. Thanks for the help with the RRGC conservation efforts!
Huge shout out to Flatout Fishing for donating a Youth Shad trip for Lunker Lake tagged fish. One fish out of 1600 was tagged with a special numbered tag and it was caught in the last 30 minutes of fishing. The 4yr old will be taking his brother and a parent for a wild shad catching adventure in late June! Thanks Jerry & Flatout Fishing.

1.1: Provide educational programs that are available to the public to encourage and support safe and lawful outdoor recreation opportunities including hunting, fishing, boating, and wildlife observation.
1.2: Support state and federal agencies with wildlife habitat projects and fish and wildlife surveys.
1.3: Train young sportsmen for future opportunities and responsibilities in wildlife management through education and examples of safety, good fellowship and sportsmanship.
