Hello, making a post this time so new folks can get a handle on why I’ve been closed a good bit this summer. My wife and I moved out to goochland a year ago and sone change to help my grandmother take care of my grandad with dementia. They adopted a slow moving tornado as an infant (me) and my sister so we always said we’d take care of them when it came to that! My sister moved to California so it fell to katie and me. I’m my grandad passed last august, they were married for 69 years. My grandma has had a hard time figuring out how to cope with that so anxiety and grief have put a strain on her health, then she had a heart attack! So that took a lot out of her, she got a little better, but I think so much is weighing on her she needs us with her in shifts, hard on Katie because grandma likes her quite a bit more than me unless there’s something heavy to move. It’s been difficult back and forth with no employees 6/days week. A couple weeks ago we lost our best friend Lou at the age of 14 so that’s been a struggle for the obvious reasons but also bc there’s fewer shoulders yo cry on now. Lou was very supportive! Today (8/1) grandma is back in the hospital, hopefully figuring out if there’s anything medically or if it’s just that she won’t eat. If I was just raking in the dough at this shop rn I’d still close whenever I need or even want to until I can get a hold of all this. Thanks for your support and for helping me out along the way the last couple years. We’re planning an event for September, a yard sale so to speak, which will mark a point where katie and I will take a couple weeks off and travel a little. Thanks again, love y’all ❤️
