Today, we are at Dorey Park from 9-1 for the Plant Native Festival! Everyone gets a $10 voucher to put toward a purchase! They are also giving away a free tree to the first 1000 attendees. This is our last set up at Eco Inspired for the year. The weather is beautiful so come see us this morning from 9-12pm! We brought Golden Alexander, Wild bergamot, Garden phlox, Slender mountain mint, American alumroot, Thinleaf sunflower, Wild Columbine, Lyre leafy sage, Pale Indian plantain, Plantain-leaved Pussytoes, New York aster, Shrubby St. John’s wort, Arrowwood viburnum, Black chokeberry, Witch Hazel, Buttonbush and last but not least Paw Paws! We hope to see you .
We are all set up for the fall plant sale! Tonight 4-7pm is for garden members, Friday and Saturday is for everyone from 9am-3pm. Come by and see us! It’s a great time to plant Richmond natives!

We have an awesome new logo for Good Seed Natives! We wanted to highlight the importance of native plants in our logo by including a host plant and the life cycle of a native butterfly. We chose Spicebush since it’s the host for the beautiful Spicebush caterpillar which transforms into the Spicebush Swallowtail. A huge thanks to for the creation!
It looks like we’re going to have lovely weather for working out in the garden this weekend and we have plenty of great plants ready to find new homes! Lewis Ginter Spring Plant sale starts tomorrow! Tomorrow is members only from 4-7pm. Friday May 3rd and Saturday May 4th is from 9am-3pm. If you’re looking for something specific come early! We will have lots of different plants, but a few things we will have are Elderberry, Little bluestem, Spotted beebalm, Coral honeysuckle, Pussytoes, Cutleaf coneflower, Indian plantain, Sweet Joe Pye and much more! We really look forward to seeing you there!
Herbs Galore is tomorrow, Saturday, from 8-3pm! We have 20 species of native perennials, 5 different native shrubs (NJ Teas, Buttonbush, Blackhaw viburnum, Spicebush and Elderberry) and a tree (Black Cherry). All native to RVA. Our plants are looking really good! We hope you come by and see us tomorrow. We are in space #82…in the back section, don’t miss us!
WE’RE HIRING! Good Seed Natives is looking for part time help, 20-30 hours per week. This position includes working with native plants, but also a lot of typical nursery maintenance work. If you’re interested you must be open to working Saturdays, be a self starter and be able to lift 50lbs. Prior plant knowledge is preferred. Send us an email to [email protected] for more details. We are really excited to have someone join our team!
We had to move our date due to rain! We will now be on Saturday 3/30 from 10am-1pm.
Here is an updated list of some of the plants we will have: VA Bluebells, Bluemist flower, Spotted bee balm, Blue vervain, Blue-stemmed goldenrod, Golden ragwort, Spotted St Johns wort, Pussytoes, Clustered mountain mint, Woodland stonecrop and Lyreleaf sage!
Our first pop up for the year will be in Bon Air on Saturday, March 23 from 10am-1pm! We already have some nice growth on a lot of our plants. A few of the natives we will have: Packera aurea, Monarda punctata, Pycnanthemum muticum, Sedum ternatum, Hypericum punctatum, Salvia lyrata, Antennaria plantaginifolia and Mertensia virginiana. You can get your native plants and your refills all in one stop!
We picked up a trailer full of beautiful RVA native plants from the wonderful people last week 🌱 We’ll be adding some to our current inventory and also adding some to the coming soon (spring 2024) section.

Please note: some of our plants have entered their winter dormancy phase but are still very healthy. Now is a great time to get them in the ground to give these plants time to spread their roots before next summer!
