𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐀𝐦𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬! ❤️
Protects your baby in utero during pregnancy *and* birth. Enclosed within the sac, amniotic fluid surrounds the growing baby in the womb and protects it from injury and temperature changes. It also allows for freedom of movement, which permits better musculoskeletal development. The longer the amniotic membranes remain intact, the less pressure on baby’s head, and the more gently dilation takes place during childbirth. Nature has a plan!

It took a while for it to come in the mail but finally!!! 🤰❤️
An understanding of physiology should underpin childbirth education. We need to reclaim birth knowledge rather than reinforce and sustain misconceptions created during the medicalisation of women's bodies. Diagrams and teaching aids depicting neat, circular cervical dilation are incorrect and perpetuate misinformation.

That Shower
The water tinges pink,
or pools bright red
as a stark reminder of all you have just achieved.
You ache and move tentatively,
for all your body has just been through.
So strong, but so fragile.
You body feels empty for the first time in the best part of a year,
But you heart feels more full than it’s ever been before.
You are alone in this room, silent but for the crashing of water ringing in your ears.
This white noise accompanying the melody of joy, shock, love, overwhelm singing through your body.
You mind whirs, your future flashing before your eyes, your immediate past replaying like a movie in your head.
Did that really just happen?
Did you really just do that?
Life has just changed forever in a moment.
You are a mother now.
You have a baby now.
Your baby.
Now.
The responsibility heavy,
the relief overwhelming,
the excitement buzzing,
the exhaustion crushing,
the love exploding.
As the warm water hits your face,
streams down your back
and washes down the drain,
the old you fades with it.
They say when you give birth,
a mother is born as well as a baby.
But I’m pretty sure that mother me
was born in that shower.
You’ve been to the moon,
and you’re coming back to yourself.
So still in your bathroom womb.
The world still buzzing behind the door.
You’ll step out of that shower, transformed.
You’ll never feel so full and so empty,
so much and so little,
so wild and so calm
as you do in that shower.
That shower you will never forget.
I think there are only 2 showers in my life that I vividly remember taking. The showers after the births of both my babes.
Those showers.

FACT: VBAC after multiple cesareans is possible for many women! Embracing the possibility of a vaginal birth after multiple cesareans (VBAMC) can feel like traversing uncharted territory for many mothers-to-be. There's often a cloud of uncertainty surrounding the safety and feasibility of VBAMC versus a repeat cesarean, especially when considering the increased risks that come with each successive cesarean.
Yes, it's true that after two cesareans, the risks can rise. However, it's vital to recognize that VBAMC studies are limited and honestly lacking. We need more quality data. And it's hard to say with certainty what the exact risks are without more data. However, VBAMC is not an impossibility—it's a journey that many courageous women have successfully undertaken.
Acknowledging the risks is crucial. With each additional cesarean, the likelihood of complications such as uterine rupture or placental issues does increase. However, these risks, while present, are often outweighed by the benefits of VBAMC, including shorter recovery times and reduced risks associated with multiple cesareans.
VBAMC is not merely a dream—it's a tangible possibility for many women who are willing to explore their options and advocate for their preferences. While the road may have its twists and turns, with the right support and determination, VBAMC can become a reality.
A mother’s love for her children is her fuel.
It keeps her going.
Even when she’s burnt out, tired, completely overwhelmed, or on the ground crying. She keeps going.
Even when her anxiety is so bad that she's able to identify 20 ways her children could get hurt at the park, she lets them enjoy it. She keeps going.
Even when her depression is so awful, it feels like it's pressing down on her forcing her to stay in bed, the wail of her newborn needing her pulls her right up. She keeps going.
Even when life throws her curveballs, relationships are failing, finances aren’t steady, or she’s dealing with grief. She keeps going.
On the good days. She keeps going.
On the bad days. She keeps going.
On the tired days. She keeps going.
On the sad days. She keeps going.
And her love isn’t perfect.
It makes her angry and yell out of fear.
It makes her anxious and look to control.
But it’s the most powerful part of her—
that love for her children.
It’s strong and unconditional.
So, a simple hug
keeps her going.

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
Enough money within her control to move out...
And rent a place of her own
even if she never wants to
or needs to...
Something perfect to wear if the employer
or date of her dreams wants to See Her in an hour...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
A youth she's content to leave behind....
A past juicy enough that she's looking forward to
retelling it in her Old Age....
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .
A set of screwdrivers,
a cordless drill, and a black lace bra...
One friend who always makes her laugh...
And one Who lets her cry...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
A good piece of furniture not previously owned
by anyone else in her Family...
Eight matching plates,
wine glasses with stems,
And a recipe for a meal that will make
her guests feel Honored...
A feeling of control over her destiny...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
How to fall in love without losing herself..
HOW TO QUIT A JOB,
BREAK UP WITH A LOVER,
AND CONFRONT A FRIEND WITHOUT
RUINING THE FRIENDSHIP...
When to try harder...
And WHEN TO WALK AWAY...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
That she can't change the length of her calves,
The width of her hips,
or the nature of her parents..
That her childhood may not have been perfect...
But it's over...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
What she would and wouldn't do for love or more...
How to live alone...
Even if she doesn't like it...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
Whom she can trust,
Whom she can't,
And why she shouldn't take it personally...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
Where to go...
Be it to her best friend's kitchen table...
Or a charming inn in the woods...
When her soul needs soothing...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
What she can and can't accomplish in a day...
A month...
And a year... ॐ

Breastfeeding is not just a meal; it's a moment of profound connection and nurturing, a language of love spoken in silence between a mother and her child.💕
We often get asked "Is this baby blues or postpartum depression?"
The big differences between baby blues and postpartum depression is that the baby blues will usually dissipate by 2 weeks post-delivery without treatment, and are experienced by up to 80% of new parents.
Postpartum depression, on the other hand, has more severe symptoms, lasts longer than two weeks (even years without treatment), and affects approximately 15% of new parents. PPD, along with the other perinatal mental health disorders, is temporary and treatable.
If you think you are experiencing a perinatal mental health disorder or just don't feel like yourself and need support:
🔷 Call or text the Postpartum Support International HelpLine at 800-944-4773. You never need a diagnosis to ask for help.
🔷 Call or text the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 1-833-852-6262
🔷 In a crisis situation, call or text the National Su***de & Crisis Lifeline at 988.
🔷 Visit postpartum.net for additional programs and resources.
