The Writer's Den Poetry Slam is a weekly event that offers a poetry slam, open mic with a twist, with a dj, and more. Spoken-word artists from all over compete to earn a spot on the team that will go on represent Virginia regionally and nationally or come and share their poems, songs, jokes, and talents. poetry slams are first Sundays at . Each month, poets have the chance to compete for an opportunity to be invited back to our Grand Slam happening in January. From August to December, poets slam and earn points.
1st place -5 points
2nd place -4 points
3rd place -3 points
4th place -2 points
5th and lower -1 point
The more you slam, the more points you can earn. After our final qualifier in December. We tally the points and invite our top poets back for Grand Slam in January. You still have a chance to make it Grand Slam.
It's the best poetry slam in the 804! Who do you think will make the team? Tag your faves and poets you think should be competing.
