The Alvin Queen Trio continues to break new ground with their latest project ‘Feeling Good’! Having only cracked the JazzWeek jazz charts eight weeks ago, our favorite trio finds themselves holding down a spot on three of JazzWeek’s jazz charts!

I am pleased to announce the Alvin Queen Trio picked up the #04 spot on JazzWeek’s “Current Week” Top 50 Jazz Chart (September 30th)! Congrats, gents!

Additionally, ‘Feeling Good’ captured the #18 spot on JazzWeek’s “Running 13-Week” Top 100 Jazz Chart, and the #70 spot on JazzWeek’s “Running 26-Week” Top 100 Jazz Chart! Amazing!!

I was honored to receive an invitation from Mr. Queen to generate the "liner notes" for this project, and the continued success is "feeling good!"

From the “Liner Notes”

“Three Little Words” is a popular song by Harry Ruby and lyricist Bert Kalmar, published in 1930. The Rhythm Boys (including Bing Crosby) and the Duke Ellington Orchestra recorded it on August 26, 1930. The Ruby/Kalmar partnership was portrayed in the 1950 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer musical “Three Little Words” starring Fred Astaire and Red Skelton.

The trio embraces this 93-year gem, with Carlton taking the lead and solid solos from Danton and Alvin.

A brilliant up-tempo rendering by the trio!

A Facebook community for the lovers of all things jazz located in Richmond, VA where we share topics & music links while promoting the jazz scene in our town on the James River!!

Founded in 2011, as a humble ‘dream’ we now have 21k+ ‘friends & followers’ around the world located in 140+ countries!! Hard to believe...

We post “live” weekly, known as “The Smooth Jazz Train” (Thursday evenings from 7-9p) when we ‘share’ twenty-four (24) ‘tracks’ spanning nearly 100-years of jazz! Our ‘track library’ contains 8.3k+ songs and we seldom play any ‘track’ twice in the same year!
