Today was ‘Bring Your Besties to Work Day’ in the studio. Alice Blue loves the Fable gang and today we got to break bread, hang out, and do character T-poses together! Thanks to for being a trusted partner and for starting this week off right.

The term Topiary is derived from the Latin word for an ornamental landscape gardener, topiarius, a creator of topia or “places”, a Greek word that Romans also applied to fictive indoor landscapes executed in fresco.

As a woman-owned business, International Women’s Day is near and dear to us. And so is the incredible woman that we are highlighting on this special day, because she happens to be Alice Blue founder, Meredith Ott Sullivan’s grandmother. Eleanor Parker Sheppard was a political force in Richmond during the 1950’s and 60’s. She was the first woman to be elected to the City Council of Richmond, and later went on to be Virginia’s first female Mayor of an incorporated city. One quote states, “The work of Eleanor Parker Sheppard really showed the men in Richmond in that time period that a woman could do a man’s job and, in fact, do it better. She really fought for Richmond, and she fought for people who didn’t always have a voice.”

When newly-christened Two Tango (formerly NDP) contacted us to produce a gaming style video with a driver’s POV, filming in four Virginia locations, what’s the first thing we did?
Call Carleen Martin of course!
With a combination of both location and in-studio video, graphics design and animation, CGI design and creation, complete with a 3D girlfriend, this gig was tailor-made for Alice Blue. It was a very fun, elaborate and fast-paced production that we will detail in the coming days.

What would it have looked like if George Washington made the trek all alone on that historic crossing of the Delaware? Might feel a bit like relying on AI to bring your vision to life. Tech and gadgets are fun but nothing can replace the magic of an image created through an artistic process. Tapping into imaginative thought and technical expertise from a team of creatives is what truly brings a story to life. And no, this isn't AI, it is hand drawn illustration done for Hunt Adkins and their client Mayo Clinic that demonstrates the essence and power of collaboration

Exceptional concepts are even more inspiring when they are in a traditionally conservative marketing space. VMLYR pushed the boundaries in their advertising for client BASF for product line Sefina. Full CGI Character Design, Creation, and Post are the latest in Alice Blue's new work launch. Hard to look away!

Let's start the week off with a Gold Award Winner for Alice Blue! A project such as this only occurs when you have agency and client partners that create such an environment and culture of creative exploration.

When Gunpowder approached us to create their campaign for the innovative technology of client, SIONYX, our studio went all in. The creative concept of Brian Steinseifer was brilliant. We were hooked. Our teams immediately connected on how to bring this creative vision to life.

Nothing ever happens creatively unless you have an account lead who fights for the best way to tell a story. Marie Haas is that kick-ass account lead.

But this campaign never would've happened unless we had an innovative client who was willing to push the boundaries. Enter Caitlin Kehoe and Giovanni Lepore.

This was such a fun project and it really shows in the finished campaign. Such a dream team. Thank you Gunpowder and SIONYX for trusting us to tell your groundbreaking story!

We had a swell time at the Adage Show on Friday and took home two bronzes and one gold award! Alice Blue is proud and honored to collaborate with our agency and client partners to create stellar work, and can’t wait to see what new magic we dream up together. Until then, here are a few shots of our artists having a jolly good night!

Alice Blue always loves partnering with Director Erik Almas, where his focus on all of the small details elevate good to great! The assignment was to tell the story of patients traversing a bridge that transforms from weak to strong. The bridge is created to mimic the spine and to highlight a bone strengthening treatment. Chris Bodie with the magic to bring all of the elements together in seamless fashion.

Well THAT was fun!! What a great few days hanging in Chicago with the fabulous team at Abelson Taylor, the oh so cool Lindsay Siu, our hard working Chicago rep Patti Schumann, and getting to be a part of Rachel Waters’ last official Chicago shoot as she heads off to la la land. The team was perfect...and we all managed to survive St Patrick’s Day in Chicago! Time for Alice Blue to get busy doing their thang!
