As we close our celebration of Arab American Heritage Month our scholars want to share about their culture.
“A fun fact about the Arab Palestinian culture is that families are usually large and deeply family-oriented, emphasizing strong bonds and unity. Additionally, Palestinians are known for their warm hospitality, often welcoming guests with open arms, generous servings of food, and heartfelt conversations.
This tradition of hospitality reflects the values of kindness, generosity, and community in Palestinian society.
As an Arab Palestinian we also believe that simple acts such as smiling is a form of charity. We value and honor and respect all man kind.”

To infinity and— well, let’s just say scholars were BEYOND thrilled to engage with hands-on activities while learning about Black History and its accomplishments with space travel. Who said learning can’t be fun?? There is truly no place like REACH.
_________
We’re unlocking the power of knowledge through black history. Our campus was transformed this past Tuesday as our scholars had the opportunity to take flight as they learned about black culture through Katherine Johnson’s tremendous accomplishment of making space travel possible, NASA engineer Stephanie D. Wilson’s rocket-building work, and the steps of Mae Jemison and her journey through space. Scholars also had the opportunity to receive a spoken word from Brandon Allen, parent of one of our sixth grade scholars, who educated our scholars about different black history figures influencing space travel. His motivational words inspired our scholars to reach for the stars, dream big, and not let failures define them.
Ignite change, inspire minds, and honor the legacy.
Unleash the power of black excellence.
We were honored to have four special guests share their talents as we honor black voices, black resilience, black gifts. Special guest performers included:
Justice Sterling: Spoken Word Poetry
Kybra Minisee: Who sang I’m Here from the Soundtrack The Color Purple
Haleema “Honey” Wright: Tap Dancing to Rhythm Nation by Janet Jackson
J. Boykin: Saxophonist
A special thank you to all our special guests for sharing your talents and encouraging positive change.
Another Day of STEAM is coming and you don’t want to miss it! This optional day is jam packed with STEAM related hands on activities for our scholars to participate in. Be sure to save your spot now!
