La Sierra University is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Joseph Ogega Nyangweso, a business management for health professionals major. He enrolled at La Sierra University with the goal of becoming an orthopedic surgeon.

“I recall Joseph’s quick smile, cheerfulness and willingness to converse with anyone,” said Zapara School of Business Dean John Thomas. “He was a light in our business school, he had great plans to do the work of healing and to make our world a better place. We are saddened and shocked by his sudden passing and our hearts are with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.”

La Sierra University’s Office of Spiritual Life will hold a memorial service this Thursday, August 10 at 4 p.m. at Hole Memorial Auditorium.

Last Wednesday we were honored to have the talented Pierce Street Jazz group and Grammy nominated vocalist, Sherry Williams perform at the Troesh center in our building!

This month at the Zapara School of Business we had great guest speakers such as Tim Davis, music producer and performer, Keith Tutt II, cellist and music producer, Jodi Wilson and Laura Jackson, analysts at Deloitte, and Kailin Scott, deputy director at NHSIE.

We were honored to have these guest speakers and because of them our students were able to gain inspiration and make meaningful connections.

This week at the Zapara school of business, he had the opportunity to hear ZSB alum Jodi Wilson and Laura Jackson talk at this week’s colloquium. They are both analysts at Deloitte.

We are looking forward to this event!

Today we celebrate La Sierra University’s 3rd annual Giving Day! In celebration, the Zapara School of Business student leaders decided to take on the Hot Ones challenge. Stay tuned to hear our club presidents talk a little about themselves and their clubs all while eating hot wings!

The office of pre-health is passing out free donuts Monday-Thursday of this week! Take a quick break from studying and come stop by the ZSB on Wednesday from 2:30- 3:30 pm to grab a donut and to meet your advisor. We hope to see you there!

Happy holidays from the Zapara school of Business! We hope everyone had a great time at our Christmas party last Tuesday!

Tomorrow at the ZSB, we will be throwing a Christmas party at 5 pm! We will be playing fun games, decorating Christmas cookies and ornaments, and building gingerbread houses. Dinner will be provided! We can’t wait to see you all there!

We hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving and are continuing to enjoy your break. We will see you back on Monday!

On Monday, we were able to have a tour of the beautiful SoFi stadium. We got the chance to see all of the amazing architecture and features that make this one of the best stadiums around.
