A Year In Review
What a year: worldwide pandemic, one full academic year online, quarantines, lockdowns, the killing of George Floyd and others, protests, civil unrest, wildfires, social media firestorms, COVID-19 testing, masks, banned and cancelled travel, long hair and beards, Netflix marathons, crazy weather, elections, vaccines and so many other events, stories and firsts. I am so privileged that I got to spend this year with you (good, bad, ugly, sad, high, low). You are important to me and while I know some of you well and others only by name… thank you for keeping me going this year. So happy we have finished 2020-2021 and applaud all your hard work, efforts, patience, love, and shared stories. To my international Golden Eagles, BRAVO!! YOU DID IT!

International Office: Filing Your Taxes Starting Spring Break

Friends - tax season is here. Please plan on scheduling your tax appts during spring break. We will be offering workshops for the 8843 ( no income in 2020) free filing, as well as, the 1040 NR form (earned some income in 2020 and received a W-2 or 1099) for a $20 fee. Remember you cannot file a 1040 or 1040 EZ form as an international student. You much file the 1040 NR (non resident form) as an F1 student. Please do not file the wrong form because it is very time consuming and expensive to fix. Taxes are serious and as an F1 student you are not eligible for stimulus money or U.S. student tax breaks (please talk to the international office about exceptions). We will be post tax tips all week.
