Stevie Hasemeyer (‘10), The Visionary. ☕️
After his dream of living in China didn’t pan out, Stevie leaned into the other plans God had for his life. He and his wife had a desire to invest deeper into Riverside. Going the café route helped build the vision of creating shared moments and a sense of belonging for all that they hoped to instill in the community.
Stevie and four business partners opened the first Arcade coffee shop in Riverside in 2017. The second location opened in 2021, and the next one in 2022. Then they bought Backstreet, a popular Riverside cafe, in 2023.
All that work culminated with the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce naming Hasemeyer, the majority owner, Entrepreneur of the Year for 2023. To learn more about his story, please visit: https://bit.ly/3TGvBZ9

The start of fall semester at CBU was buzzing — and not just because students were back in session. The university also announced the successful early completion of a five-year $40 Million Endowment Challenge. The challenge began in March 2021 when a generous donor committed up to $10 million in matching funds toward various School of Christian Ministries endowment opportunities. Thanks to the support of the CBU family — trustees, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, friends, churches and a university institutional match — the challenge concluded in just 3.5 years.
