4 TIPS for New Patients with low back pain…
Welcome! We’re glad you're here with us because for over 33 years we've helped thousands of patients just like you with pain and heal naturally. So here’s a few tips you need to know to help you as you begin your healing process.
Tip #1: Trust the process AND Give it some time.
I wish I had a magic wand to make your pain go away instantly. Once in a LONG while that does happen after just a few visits, however most of the time it take a lot of work, rest and plenty of time. Please give the process a chance to work AND your body’s ability to heal a chance to do what it does naturally.
Think of your healing a lot like growing a vegetable garden. It takes a process of preparing the soil, planting the seeds, adding the right amount of water and sunshine, and of course time.
So I ask that you PLEASE trust the process AND give yourself some time to heal.
Tip #2: You need to keep moving daily.
Unless I specifically told you to rest in bed, you need to keep moving DAILY.
Keep in mind there are only certain types of movement and a certain amount of movement you should be doing one day at a time, AND if you have any questions on the movement you should be doing - PLEASE ASK ME!
There are going to be days where you are more sore than others AND you're not going to want to move, and that’s normal - but in spite of all this I want you to keep moving anyway as much as you can without inflicting more pain on yourself. If you’re not sure… CALL US! Little by little you'll get there.
Tip #3: Closely watch what you eat.
FOOD can be used to help you heal, HOWEVER food can also cause you greater pain and prevent you from healing.
Make sure you have our list of foods you should eat for healing AS WELL AS our list of foods you should avoid.
Please take food seriously because this can make or break your healing.
Tip #4: Stay Positive AND Stay focused on the goal.
This is where I'm tempted to say “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.”
In spite of how corny as that sounds, there is a mountain of medical research that shows WORRY will interfere with healing AND staying POSITIVE will help you get the results you want.
I’m not asking you to ignore pain and pretend it’s not there. I am asking you to not get stuck and focus exclusively on your pain. Do everything you can to keep your mind on the work you need to do in order to get the results you want.
