Vacation started off rocky. Flights were messed up, didn’t have ny bag for 3 days but everything ended up coming together the way I expected it to. Small mishaps for a greater outcome. Here’s to 30 & becoming a fiancé.
Fatherhood. Yes I’m always tired, yes I’m always protective, yes you are the boss of me (even when I say you’re not), yes I let you sleep in the bed with me from time to time & yes sometimes it’s hard to keep a serious face when it’s time to be serious. But I would never change it for anything ❤️
& they’re off to States. I am not they’re Track Coach however they do come to private training for Strength Training. I am more than proud of them for making it to States for individual events.

Words can’t express how proud I am of these 2 stars. Both Sectional champs in their individual events. went from battling Shin Splints all last year to being consistent in the weight room shin splint free & PR in the Long Jump & got her Sectional patch before her high school career ends. back at it again with conquering Triple & Long. The start of the SZN was a little shaky but she’s finishing the SZN off strong. This is the 1st time as a S&C having 2 Athletes win in their individual events for Sectionals. Just can’t stress enough how proud I am of them

You know you’re doing great when you even have the Coach doing the mobility warm ups with the team. How does the saying go, do what you love & you’ll never feel like you’re working. Girls Modified Basketball Team getting their mobility warm up in before their pregame lift.

This card made my day & started my year off beautiful. This is all I want to do. I never really talk about my past or where I came from because it’s in the past. Being able to come from humble beginnings & and a place where the odds are stacked against and prevail because others came into your life at the right time and led you down the right path. To see the same energy that was given to me when I was at my lowest & darkest points in life is being passed along to others the same way it was to me is a WIN! Idc about the weight lifted, PRs set, views, likes, shares & etc. None of that matters if you can’t create genuine relationships with those you’re around. Your relationships will make a bigger impact & experience than all of the instant gratifying things. I appreciate this so much because this is just reassuring to me that I’m making my impact the way I want to with my vision. I will always will be about the Athletes and those coming behind me because they are our future. So once again Zoe, this made me extremely teary eyed. I wasn’t expecting this at all & I can’t thank you enough!! 🙏🏾

2 DB Front Foot Elevated Split Squats • BeGREAT! 🐂

Split Squat Progression movement pattern. Great for increasing the range of motion of the movement & increasing more hip & hamstring involvement. This movement is particularly good for Athletes with long femurs with getting more involvement with the front hip before the supported back leg hits the floor.

Everyone can’t Squat ATG. Does that mean you suck at Squatting, no. Some of us have mobility than others that gives us the advantage to Squat lower. However, it is possible to work on Squatting lower by performing various mobility & stability exercises to increase range of motion. Also everyone body is different. Some have longer femurs and some have shorter femurs. This also plays a role in Squat Depth. I say that to say this. Just because you can’t Squat ATG doesn’t mean you’re not strong. Are there great benefits of Squatting ATG, yes but do what you can.

BB Hang Pulls • BeGREAT! 🐂

Hang Clean Regression movement but a Progression from the Hang Shrug. Great exercise to use for Athletes that are learning how to perform the Hang Clean. It teaches them how to use Triple Extension (power from the hips, knees & ankles). This movement can also increase your Vertical power ie jump higher and faster.

No gym today but doesn’t make an excuse to not move. Quick mobility routine to relieve some stiffness & just mobilize my body a little bit.

The power of 2.5lb & 5lb plates in the weight room. In this video I cover how to increase your weight in the weight room by using just 2.5-5lb plates. Many neglect the smaller plates because they don’t look “cool” in their lifts but 5-10lbs can make a huge difference when lifting. Tune in to the video to hear more.

Message from Coach Shabazz: stop trying to kill people with Box Jumps. Something I see all the time people suggesting high reps when doing Box Jumps or even some using it as a form of conditioning & that’s not what Box Jumps are for. I may receive slack for this but someone has to say it.
