This week we're dancing on Wednesday to DJ ART! Come by for a crash course if youve never done lindy hop before!

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 21
Have you ever wanted to join a Lindy Hop competition, but felt too intimidated by larger events? If that's the case, then join us for Flower City Lindy Classic as it returns after a 5-year hiatus!

Created as a low-stakes local competition event, FCLC is perfect for anyone looking to dip their toes into the competition pool. This year, we will host the following competitions:
* Beginner Mix & Match (must have been dancing for a year or less)
* Open Mix & Match
* Solo Jazz

Any competition is free to enter, however, you are disqualified from competing if:
* you are a Groove Juice Swing instructor
* you have placed in a regional competition in the same category
* you have won this competition at FCLC in one of the previous years

Prizes for competitions will range from Lindy Jam passes to class passes to regional event passes!

6:30pm - 7:30pm Beginner Lesson
7:30pm - 8:10pm - DJ Set 1
8:10pm - 8:30pm - Competitions (Open Mix & Match, Solo Jazz)
8:30pm - 9:20pm - DJ Set 2
9:20pm - 9:40pm - Competitions 2 (Beginner Mix & Match, Open Mix & Match finals)
9:40pm - 10:30pm - DJ Set 3

This Wednesday Lindy Jam is having some bonus dance time for Balboa lovers! From 7:30-8:30 there will be balboa friendly music spinning and then from 8:30 onwards, we've got DJ V playing the rest of the night.

Admission is $5 if you're just staying for Balboa hour or $12 with Lindy Jam.

If you are joining us just for Lindy Jam, its $8 and includes a beginner lindy hop lesson!

Pride Night Swing Dance with Groove Juice Swing

Dj Jasmine will be playing music all night and featuring q***r artists!
If this your first time, we have a beginner lesson with Anna and Maggie! You can choose to dance as a lead or a follow (and you can always learn the other role another time if you like to switch it up!).

If you attend with a specific dance partner, you have the option to practice moves with other dancers in the class or just stick with your partner.
No registration is required and we host a dance every Wednesday. If you can't make it this week, join any time!

Danny Jonokuchi & The Revisionists are “today’s premier swing band” (Broadway World) from the heart of New York City. Fueled by an unwavering love of dancing, their music has been described as “smile-inducing” (DownBeat) as well as “crisp, clean, and refreshingly joyful” (Syncopated Times). Their new album, “Together Again” (2022), was released following their headlining performance at Lincoln Center’s Summer For The City Festival. In 2020, they were unanimously named the WINNERS of the inaugural Count Basie Great American Swing Contest for their virtual performance of “One O’Clock Jump”. The award-winning track included on the Late Night Basie album, alongside a star-studded roster of artists paying tribute to the great Count Basie.

“Together Again” (2022) is the band’s second album that combines tracks featuring 24 musicians that recorded remotely across the continent over two years, as well as their first recording session back in person. The band’s debut album, “Let Me Off Uptown” (2019), is also available on all streaming platforms and includes original numbers and songs made famous by Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O’Day, Billie Holiday, and many more. The album features some of New York’s finest instrumentals and also shines a light on vocalist Alexa Barchini who has been described as “a star in the making” (Syncopated Times).
