We have a slight change in our speaker lineup for Symposium!

Firstly, SCDHA would like to congratulate Amber Lovatos on winning the prestigious Latinx House Health Champion award.

The Latinx House is an activist organization for Latinx issues comprising celebrities, business, tech, and community activists.

The awards ceremony falls on the same day as the SCDHA Annual Dental Hygiene Symposium, so Amber Lovatos will be unable to present her course to us.

Our new speaker is Stephanie Botts, RDH, BSDH, CEAS. We are grateful that she is stepping in to present her popular course: “The Dental Professional’s Role in Supporting Patients with Substance Use Disorder”

As dental hygienists, we ALL know that the unexpected can come up to best-laid plans (localized SRP instead of a prophy anyone?) and we all pride ourselves in being able to pivot and adapt. SCDHA will have a zoom meeting on Wednesday, September 14th at 7PM to vote on a new Co-Chair for Piedmont - West Component.

This person must be a member of SCDHA. The Co-Chair is responsible for attending SCDHA meetings, including the Annual Symposium in the fall. The Co-Chair is charged with conducting business meetings and CE Events by coordinating with SCDHA Vice President.
