The Aries Full Moon is powerful and punchy and wraps up at the end of the month. This Full Moon is connected to the Aries New Moon and the Aries Solar Eclipse we had earlier this year. If you think back to the manifestations and intentions you set in March and April, you may begin to see those manifestations in full bloom now.

As mentioned, this is the last lunar cycle before Eclipses begin, so we may begin feeling the rumbling of transformation starting to flow in. This is a bit of a volatile Full Moon, carrying some fiery energy. We may feel a little headstrong, or our egos may be easily triggered under this Full Moon. Taking a few steps back and assessing the situation from a distance will be essential before rushing ahead. Chiron, the asteroid known as the wounded healer, is also very active under this Full Moon, shining a light on any healing needed in our lives. It seems we are being called to stop playing the victim, to stop feeling sorry for ourselves, and to rise into our inner warrior.

The Leo New Moon will continue to activate the Venus Retrograde energies. Venus Retrograde can reveal to us where we may be lacking in self-worth, where we are not living up to our values, and where we are not loving ourselves enough. Under this New Moon, we are given the opportunity to start making changes or to start thinking about how we wish to show up in the world around matters of the heart.

This will be an important point in the month when we are offered the chance to do things over, wipe the slate clean, and begin again. Fresh energy will begin flowing in under this New Moon, too, helping us to break free from any sluggish energies from the past. This moon will have themes around friendships and loyalty.

Pay attention to who comes across as supportive versus those who are always looking for a leg up. If you start to feel as though certain people in your life have become too self-involved, now may be a good time to invest more heavily in the relationships that lift you up. Independence will also be an important theme right now. If you’ve become too reliant on the praise of others, the stars will insist that you develop ways to boost confidence from within.

Beautiful romantic energy is attached to this New Moon, guiding us to feel optimistic about matters of the heart. This New Moon is wonderful fuel for a new beginning if you have recently gone through a breakup. The New Moon in Ta**us on May 19 is the lunation that closes the Eclipse portal, the first New Moon which is not an Eclipse after Eclipse season started. Every New Moon contains the promise of a fresh start, and this New Moon in Ta**us begins a lunar cycle centered around returning to basics and rebuilding our foundations after the intensity of Eclipse season.

This is an excellent time to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies of the Bull. It's time to enjoy life's simple and physical pleasures–savor good food and enjoy activities that bring us in touch with nature and with our bodies. It's time to stop and smell the roses and become more aware of what makes us feel comfortable and secure. Finally, this is an excellent cycle to re-evaluate our relationship with money and possessions and discover what truly makes us happy and fulfilled.

This New Moon harmonizes with Mars, Neptune, and Pluto, suggesting that our inspiration, motivation, and determination support our efforts to begin fresh. But, unfortunately, Mars and Pluto are heading toward opposition, and the tension can stir ambition, although some paranoia or fear-driven behavior can be involved.

Change can sometimes feel overwhelming, which paralyzes and halts our ability to take action. Often, the block is "where do I start?" Well, our journey this month will address just that! In Astronomy, Chiron was discovered in 1977 by the American astronomer Charles Kowal and classified as an asteroid with the number 2060. It is about 200 km (125 miles) in diameter and travels in an unstable, eccentric orbit that crosses that of Saturn and passes just inside Uranus with a period of 50.45 years. In 1989 this asteroid was re-classified as a comet due to its fuzzy luminous cloud, which is a determining factor for comets.

In astrology, Chiron is also known as the wounded healer. Chiron is said to work with our deepest inner traumas and to accept each crack and crevice of who we are for great personal healing.

In Greek mythology, Chiron is considered a Centaur-like being, the son of the Titan Cronus and Philyra, an Oceanid or sea nymph. Chiron lived at the foot of Mount Pelion in Thessaly. Unlike other Centaurs, who were violent and savage, he was famous for his wisdom and knowledge of medicine. He instructed many Greek heroes. Chiron frequently appears in the legends of his grandson, Peleus, and his great-grandson, Achilles. Accidentally pierced by a poisoned arrow shot by Heracles, he renounced his immortality to save Prometheus and was placed among the stars as the constellation Centaurus.

Our first retrograde planet since January! Mercury Retrograde is always a time to look within!
